2026 is about precision, and Penn State University is starting the year by setting a new standard in the lab with the dual integration of SARRP and CIX3!

Between the new hardware and our most advanced software suite, they’ve built a powerhouse ecosystem for the year ahead. A huge congratulations to the team, including Zhonglu Wang and Hanif Khan, who spent their first week of the year mastering this tech during Phase 1 training!

This is just the beginning of a long-term legacy, and we are proud to be the trusted system they count on for many years to come.

Congrats are in order for the newly installed Small Animal Radiation Research Platform (SARRP) at CiMUS (Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases) in Santiago de Compostela, Spain!

This project is led by Oportunius Research Professor Yolanda Prezado, and we are honored to partner with a visionary of her caliber as she continues to redefine what is possible in radiation research.

01/02/2026

As we welcome the new year, we at Xstrahl are proud of the significant milestones we achieved in our mission to advance radiation medicine and expand patient impact. Our team has remained focused on bridging the gap between preclinical innovation and clinical excellence, ensuring that the latest research translates into impactful treatments.

In the preclinical sector, in addition to several SARRP installations, like the two most recent in Santiago and Hamburg, we introduced MuriSuite and Voxl, the next-generation software updates for the SARRP system, providing researchers with enhanced precision and workflow efficiency. Heading into 2026, this evolution in software will empower researchers to unlock the full potential of functional imaging, turning high-resolution data into the clinical breakthroughs of tomorrow.

On the clinical side, we continued to expand our global footprint with the installation of Xstrahl 200 systems in Spain, Sweden, and New Zealand, and beyond, and installed Xstrahl 300 systems at Mexico’s leading cancer care center to scale patient impact and established Italy’s first dedicated veterinary hospital installation to provide advanced radiation care for pets, growing our reach to 64 countries worldwide.

These achievements, coupled with the growing momentum for treating benign pain and the rediscovery of orthovoltage therapy highlighted at ASTRO, underscore the vital role of radiation medicine in modern healthcare.

Looking ahead to 2026, our goal remains steadfast, to impact as many lives as possible. We thank our partners and the global medical community for their continued trust as we work together to redefine the future of radiation therapy.

Happy New Year from the Xstrahl team!

A recent study published in Physics in Medicine & Biology by Xu et al. introduces a high-precision 3D fluorescence tomography system integrated with the SARRP platform to enhance preclinical radiation research.

While standard cone-beam CT provides necessary anatomical data, this fluorescence tomography module offers the functional and molecular contrast required for precise soft-tissue targeting and treatment assessment.

The research demonstrates that this integrated approach achieves sub-millimeter localization accuracy, enabling more effective biology-guided radiation therapy in complex models such as glioblastoma.

By utilizing a transportable animal bed and a self-calibrating reconstruction method, the system ensures high-fidelity imaging within existing SARRP workflows.

Not all heroes wear capes...our heroes wear lab coats. And there’s no better way to celebrate the holidays than by supporting the heroes in the lab!

Recently, the Xstrahl Life Science team hosted a holiday quiz, offering the winner the chance to direct a $500 donation to a charity of their choice. We are so inspired by our winner’s selection.

The winner, a researcher currently using the SARRP system to study breast cancer, chose to donate the prize to Fox Chase Cancer Center. Per their request, the donation will be dedicated to furthering Breast Cancer Research at the center.

It is an honor to provide the technology that powers this research and to support the institutions dedicated to finding a cure!

KEEP THE PACE, LOSE THE PAIN

This past Sunday, Adrian Treverton, Xstrahl's CEO, didn't just cross the finish line of the New York City Marathon, he ran to prove a point about tenacity and pain relief.

For months, debilitating foot pain, the kind that plagues millions with chronic conditions like plantar fasciitis, threatened to derail his training. He channeled that fear of not making it to the start line into a mission, promoting the critical, non-invasive solution that Xstrahl provides.

The message worn proudly on his jersey was simple, "Keep the Pace, Lose the Pain." To us here at Xstrahl, this is more than a slogan, it's the promise of Low-Dose Radiation Therapy (LDRT) for benign and inflammatory conditions.

The challenge of chronic inflammatory pain, the kind that derails training, stalls life, and impacts simple daily tasks with issues like plantar fasciitis, is immense. LDRT works to significantly reduce the inflammation and pain, ultimately helping people get back to their active lives and back to the race, faster.

If you want to explore the clinical evidence behind this solution, we invite you to watch our on-demand webinar, "Benign Radiotherapy 101" presented by Xstrahl’s Medical Director, Dr. Richard Shaffer, where he provides a concise overview of how LDRT can be used to treat chronic pain conditions, including plantar fasciitis and osteoarthritis affecting joints in the hands, knees, hips, and shoulders.
