RESIDENTIAL HOME FOR THE AGED
Communities classified as “Residential Home for the Aged” offer a smaller, more home-like setting for seniors. Residents enjoy similar amenities to Assisted Living Communities with limited medical care in a more social environment. These facilities provide their residents with room and board as well as assistance with personal needs, such as eating and grooming. Someone who lives in a home for the aged must be physically and mentally capable of finding his way to safety in the event of an emergency without assistance from someone else. PERSONAL CARE HOME
A Personal Care Home provides housing, food service, and one or more personal services for two or more adults who are not related to the owner or administrator by blood or marriage. “Personal Services” includes individual assistance with or supervision of self-administered medication, assistance with ambulation and transfer, and assistance with essential activities of daily living such as eating, bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting.
