November: The Month of Letting Go

Not everything you carry deserves to go with you into winter.
Some thoughts have grown heavy. Some habits no longer fit.
Some relationships need distance to find balance again.

November invites release.
Not the loud kind—but the quiet, honest kind that says:
“I’m tired of holding this.”
And then lets it fall.

Letting go is not weakness. It’s an act of emotional maturity.
It’s trusting that even in the in-between—
before the new leaves grow—
you are still whole, still worthy, still becoming. 🍂

Meet Mo — The Blue Emotion

Have you ever noticed how kids (and even adults) try to push away sadness?

In My Friend Mo, Lee learns that sadness isn’t something to fix — it’s something to befriend. 💙

When we sit beside our sadness, we realize it’s not here to hurt us… it’s here to help us grow.

✨ “Sadness isn’t bad or wrong — it’s been waiting to belong.”

📘 My Friend Mo teaches kids that emotions are not enemies — they’re messengers of what matters most.

🎃 October Mental Health Reminder 🍂

October often brings change—the leaves fall, the days get shorter, and the year feels like it’s moving quickly toward its close. Just as nature shifts, our minds and emotions can shift too.

This month, try to:
🍁 Notice what you need more of—rest, connection, or calm.
🍁 Let go of something heavy, the way the trees release their leaves.
🍁 Embrace small moments of joy, like the warmth of a blanket or the glow of a pumpkin light.

💛 Mental health is not about being “perfectly positive”—it’s about creating space for both the light and the heavy, and finding balance as we go.

Check in with yourself and check in on others—your kindness might be exactly what someone needs this season.

I'm so excited to announce that I am a published author of my very first children's book "My friend Mo".
My Friend Mo is a gentle and empowering children's book that helps young readers navigate the often confusing and overwhelming experience of sadness. Through the eyes of a child named Lee, this heartfelt story invites children to explore their emotions with curiosity, kindness, and compassion. When Lee begins to feel a heavy, blue emotion he doesn't quite understand, he makes a brave and thoughtful decision: he names it Mo. By giving his sadness, a name and a presence, Lee learns that he is not his sadness-it is just one part of him.

Please consider purchasing my book to share with your kids, grandkids, students, or clients. I would love to share this book with everyone you love.

Here’s a polished and engaging September mental health post you can use for Facebook:

🍂 September Mental Health Reminder 🍂

As the seasons shift, so can our emotions. September often brings new routines, back-to-school transitions, and the first hints of fall. This is the perfect time to check in with yourself:

✨ Pause & Reflect: How has your mental health been lately?
✨ Reset: Adjust routines to include rest, movement, and meaningful connection.
✨ Reach Out: Share how you’re feeling with someone you trust.

Remember: mental health is not a destination, but a daily practice. Whether you’re feeling energized by the change of season or a little overwhelmed, you are not alone. 💛

🌻 Try This: Take 5 minutes outside today. Notice the crisp air, changing light, and sounds around you. Let it be a mini reset for your nervous system.

Let’s make September a month of small steps toward balance, compassion, and thriving — together. 💬 Drop a comment below with one thing you’re doing for your mental health this month!
