Meaningโฆwe are keeping our ears, necks and low back Covered and cozy- like itโs our job. ๐
The cold is seen as an external pathogen that can cause dis ease in the body, so we keep it out by keeping covered. ๐งฃ
Kidney naps, Hot foot baths before bed, time spent creating + crafting are encouraged for restoration.
Understanding that โjust keep pushingโ can be a recipe for unraveling this season ๐งถ
Hot teas, cooked veggies, foods simmered low and slow in broths help maintain our internal Water and Yin ๐ค
Time to switch your salad bowls for broth bowls ๐
No smoothies, iced beverages, or cold plunges for me, especially this season ๐
Foods for this season are beans, root vegetables, white radish, white mushrooms, bone broth, dark leafy greens, salt, red jujubes, dates, seaweed, seafood like muscles and herring, black sesame seeds,
And Pomegranates are just around the corner, ๐ค
One of the things I truly love about Chinese medicine is it shifts with the seasons. Just when I get bored or tired of what Iโm eating or how Iโm cooking it, the season shifts and Iโm inspired to try new things โฅ๏ธ
