Miracles In Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Ctr.

Miracles In Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Ctr. We use horses to effectively work with adults & children with disabilities or complex medical conditions and veterans.

In our 33rd year of operation, Miracles in Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Center uses horses to work effectively with adults and children who, due to disabilities or complex medical conditions, need assistance in developing the kinds of everyday skills that allow them to function more independently at home, school, or work. We offer various options for people with physical, motor, social, or cognitive disabilities, including therapeutic riding classes, Hippotherapy sessions, ground work programs, or a combination of these experiences to aid in rehabilitation, therapy routines, and strengthening.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Links, a majestic 16.2-hand registered Quarter Horse officially named Kufflinks. From the warm autumn day he arrived at Miracles in Motion, he was known for his inquisitive, cooperative nature and his deep love for his herd.

Before joining our program, Links had a successful career in dressage and jumping with his partner, Ainsley. When Ainsley left for college, she generously donated him to our center. As our tallest horse, he possessed a heart that truly matched his stature.

The pastures are quiet today as our horses, staff, and volunteers mourn this loss. He will be particularly missed by his pasture mate, Taz. Links leaves behind a trail of beautiful memories for the staff and volunteers who worked with him and the students who rode him in class.

“We don’t meet horses by accident. They are meant to cross our paths for a reason.” This was certainly true of Links. While he will be deeply missed, we know his spirit will always be near.

Thank you, Links, for everything.

This morning, we said goodbye to a dear friend, Aussie. He was a truly iconic horse, known for the unique mark on his barrel that resembled Australia and his branding from his first five years in the wild as part of the Nokota herd. After his time with the Nokota Horse Conservancy, Aussie trained as a police horse, later competed in dressage with a young girl and became her first love. Aussie's next adventure involved becoming a jumping partner for our former board president's daughter and supporting equine-assisted leadership programs for local high school sports and non-profit groups before finding his permanent home at Miracles In Motion, where he spent the last 12 years.

For anyone who has loved a horse, we celebrate the time we have together, though it always feels too short. Aussie was a true guardian—a friend and protector defined by heart, awareness, and connection. He always sensed when a storm was approaching and would lead the herd to safety. His soft, caring eyes brought a sense of calm to everyone he met, and he always knew when someone needed a "neck hug."

Horses are meant to heal the soul, and Aussie did exactly that at Miracles. He gave our riders confidence and self-esteem, providing peace whether they were on his back or by his side. While grief shapes us, it never ends us. We take comfort in knowing that Aussie will always be a part of us. We are glad to know he is now restored to health and vigor, oh how he loved to run.

After our 2025 class season ended, we welcomed a new member to the Miracles herd! Meet Dakota, a 20-something-year-old palomino quarter horse. He is extremely friendly and is one of the first to greet you at the gate. He has been enjoying his training and is excelling at learning the Miracles way. He has settled in with the herd nicely and gets along well with everyone. We are looking forward to him joining our programs this year. Welcome Dakota!
