Ever heard 'If Momma aint' happy - ain't nobody happy'? Take a few minutes today, Momma, to activate your core, do your exercise to keep you feeling good. Walking around with back/ neck pain will make you not as able to enjoy being with everyone. You do you, then you have more to give to everyone else. Whether it be postural exercises, core stabilization, kegels, pelvic floor relaxation - here is your reminder to still do your exercises on this snow/ ice day!

"Self-care is not selfish; you cannot serve from an empty vessel." – Eleanor Brownn

What is self-care to you? Many of my patients consider PT their self-care. For me as well, it is getting work done on my body (massage/ PT) to feel better/ keep feeling good. Work out the kinks to keep feeling my best so that I can be the best me. I love reading a book on a rainy day, reading in a hot bath, hiking in the woods, getting together with girlfriends for lunch, etc. What fills your cup? It is super important to think about this as we hit the holiday season so that we, (especially Mom's) have our energy to keep running and doing all of the things!

A new review to reach women with any of these issues:

I came to Dr. Jill after experiencing pain at or**sm for about 1 year. A sharp pain in my low abdomen. It was depressing to be 40 years old and feel like my sexual health was in sharp decline! In addition, I had some issues with bowel movements and urinary urgency. I have had 90 percent improvement for all of these issues after meeting with Dr. Jill for 3 months. She has a fabulous, integrated healing practice! The treatments helped me tremendously and gave me a deep feeling of peace and well-being after each visit, in better alignment. She recommended at-home dilator therapy, which was helpful as well, and educated me on healthy urinary and bowel habits. My past 10 or**sms have been 100% pain-free and I now have the knowledge I need to maintain ongoing pelvic floor health. I highly recommend Arnold Physical Therapy if you want to pursue healing in your pelvic floor!

A review I woke up to from a patient after their very first visit, who was very hesitant to come for out-of-network pelvic PT. Sharing with her consent:

I am writing this to rave about my first pelvic floor therapy session. A little background on me - I have been dealing with recurrent UTI's for most of my adult life. I have had no help from doctors throughout the years, so I have decided to take my own approach to healing my pelvic floor / Urinary Tract system. I have had numerous doctors diagnose me with Interstitial Cystitis and Pelvic floor dysfunction. They have tried to treat both of these conditions with medications and that has provided no help at all. I decided to take matters into my own hands and signed myself up for Pelvic floor therapy. This was the best decision I could have made. After only ONE session I already noticed a drastic difference. I was sent home with additional breathing exercises and stretches to help with the UTI like pain and discomfort. I am 24 hours post therapy and can gladfully say that this is the first 24-hour period in the last 4 months that I have not taken Advil or Azo.

Pelvic Floor therapy scared me at first but Dr. Jill greeted me with open comforting arms, and I immediately knew I was in the right place. She went through my whole history, symptoms, medications etc. and treated me in a way that no doctor has. Never once did I feel uncomfortable during my appointment. The only thing that I felt was relief. I plan to consistently visit Dr. Jill for PF therapy in the future. She has also given me the reassurance that I myself can calm my pelvic floor down and help my nerves. She also gave me the option of bringing my partner in to teach him some moves he can perform on me to help with tension and release. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Jill and her treatment approach.
