Even if you have volunteered in the pantry this is a great opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, and learn about how else we serve our community.

DATE UPDATE! Join us for our next Outdoor Movie Night Saturday, October 25th! CBR has been hosting monthly movie nights to create more opportunities to come together in community, queer solidarity & joy.

🌽Starting at 5pm we’ll be hosting a community potluck. Bring a covered dish to share!

🌹At 6pm we will hold a training to build resilience through community education and empowerment. This month, Sunny, one of our community partners/friends will be providing us with a Stop the Bleed Training. Come learn with us!

🌽At 7pm we’ll start the movie! This month we’re watching Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Our events are substance free and welcoming to all identities who share our goal of building inclusive and affirming places where everyone can feel free to show up exactly as they are!

A report released by the nonprofit PEN America found that in 2023-24 over half of the 4,000+ titles challenged in US schools and libraries featured LGBTQ+ and/or BIPOC stories. According to the American Library Association, this number increased by a whopping 65% from the previous year.

Representation matters, and nobody deserves to feel invisible. That’s why CBR has spent the past few years collecting and curating a private lending library of books full of queer, trans, and minority experiences. With the help of local libraries and businesses, as well as community donations, we’ve been able to grow our offerings to include a rainbow of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC genres and voices. Anybody is welcome to stop on by to borrow or contribute a book of their own!

Join us in ensuring that marginalized folks are able to see themselves and their experiences reflected in literature.

☀️Join CBR and Southern Equality Studios for a grounding hour inspired by Trans Kids, Our Kids.
☀️Co-author Alexis Stratton will share a brief reading and context from the book, then we’ll guide participants through accessible writing prompts.
☀️Options may include
~writing a poem or letter to your younger self,
~drafting a letter to a legislator,
~crafting short poems related to embodiment, gender, safety, or similar topics.
☀️No prior reading required.
