This Christmas Day, Harris EMS proudly continued its tradition of spreading holiday cheer through the annual ‘Home for the Holidays’ program. This initiative partners with local long-term care facilities to make it possible for residents to spend Christmas Day at home or with family, creating cherished moments outside the nursing home environment.

This year, Harris EMS collaborated with Sylva Valley Nursing and Rehab to fulfill a heartfelt wish for resident Betty Scott. Ms. Scott’s daughter dreamed of having her mother home for Christmas, and thanks to the program, that wish came true.

Harris EMS transported Ms. Scott to her family’s residence in Franklin, where she enjoyed approximately three hours of quality time with her loved ones. ❤️🎄

We’re proud to carry on this heartwarming tradition and wish everyone a healthy, happy, and safe holiday.

We wish you a happy and healthy holiday. May your days be merry and bright!

Harris Regional Hospital’s New Generations Family Birthing Center recently celebrated the delivery of its 600th baby of the year - a milestone that reflects the importance of access to maternity care close to home for families across western North Carolina. 💙 🎉

The milestone was made even more special by a local family who chose to return to New Generations for their second delivery. Sydney Conley, a sixth-grade math teacher in our community, welcomed her son, Kase, surrounded by a close-knit care team she already knew and trusted.

“There wasn’t a single staff member who didn’t make me feel cared for,” Sydney shared. “You’re not just a patient here, you’re part of a community that truly wants the best for you.”

Reaching 600 births this year speaks to the dedication, experience, and heart of our women’s and children’s services team, and to the trust families continue to place in receiving care close to home. ✨ ❤️

We’re proud to support families through some of life’s most important moments, today and for generations to come.
