Does your child say p**n instead of sp**n? Top instead of stop? That could be a sign of cluster reduction, a common speech pattern in early development.

This means your child is simplifying words by leaving out one sound in a consonant cluster. While it’s typical in toddlers, if it continues past age 4, it may be time to check in.
