It was a long night last night. She hasn’t been this low in a while. It took a long time to get her to a safer level. Early this morning she dropped again. What a roller coaster the last 24 hours has been.

It was a long evening/night last night. Our Dexcom starting having major issues. In the first picture you can see where the smooth line stops and the line looks more jumpy. We ended up changing out the sensor two days early.

After the new Dexcom warmed up it was smooth sailing. We do need to adjust our basal ratio at night, we were up to treat the dropping/low blood sugars. I thought it was cute though, in the second picture, Dahlia’s blood sugar makes a smiley face!

All these wonky readings and our rockstar, Barkley, kept showing up like the champ she is and letting us know about dahlia’s blood sugar. This is exactly why we have her. Technology is great until it isn’t. In the meantime we have our amazing Barkley to keep her girl safe!

4 years ago our lives changes forever. Our little girl was diagnosed with Type 1. It was in the middle of the pandemic and we had to spend the night in the ER because there were no beds left on the Pediatric floor. From a scared little 7 year old to the warr1or she is today, Dahlia has kicked Diabetes butt, every single day for 4 years! Through diagnosis, DKA, fundraising, getting Barkley, to basically crushing life, Dahlia never stops making us proud. “Normal life” seemed impossible 4 years ago, now we know that Dahlia is unstoppable! Happy 4th Diaversary! Happy Thrive Day, Dahlia!
