12-Week Domestic Violence Support Group for Women

Domestic violence does not always look like physical harm.

Many women experience psychological abuse, emotional manipulation, coercive control, financial abuse, attachment-based harm, and post-separation intimidation—yet struggle to name their experience because it was subtle, normalized, or invisible to others.

This 12-week support group, offered in collaboration between Safe Space and Vera House, is designed specifically for women impacted by non-physical forms of domestic abuse, whether they are currently in the relationship, in the process of leaving, or healing long after it ended.

This is a closed, limited-space group to ensure safety, trust, and meaningful connection.

This group may be right for you if➡️

•You often questioned your reality or felt emotionally unsafe

•Control, fear, or guilt shaped your relationship

•The abuse continued or intensified after separation

•You minimized your experience because it “wasn’t physical”

When: Tuesdays at 4:00 PM

Where: Vera House, James Street

Length: 12 weeks (closed group) starting January 27th

We’re stepping into a new chapter at Safe Space Organization, and we’re looking for a few aligned, engaged humans to join our Board of Directors 🤍

Safe Space is a Central New York nonprofit focused on changing the conversation around mental health through education, peer support, and community connection. As we rebuild and grow, we’re intentionally forming a working board—people who want to be part of the doing, not just the idea.

We’re currently seeking board members with strengths in:
✨ Fundraising & Development
✨ Marketing & Social Media
✨ Programming & Corporate Partnerships
✨ Legal & Compliance (nonprofit compliance + insurance oversight)
✨ Secretary

This is for people who:
• care deeply about mental health access
• enjoy building structure and sustainability
• want to contribute time, skills, and heart
