Your story has power. And it can create real change.

At Syracuse Prosthetic & Orthotic Center, we believe advocacy is one of the most meaningful ways to support the limb loss and limb difference community.

One way to make a difference is to become a Certified Lead Advocate through the Amputee Coalition.

This training is designed to help you grow your voice, connect with others, and confidently share your experiences to make a difference. Through interactive sessions, practical tools, and guided support, you’ll learn how to turn your “why” into impact.

If you’ve ever thought about giving back, supporting others, or helping shape a more inclusive future… this is a powerful place to start.

Join the waitlist and take the next step in your journey. 💙

Because the next step looks
different for everyone.

For some, it is standing again.

For others, it is returning to work, to family, to sport…
to the life they love.

This is not about going back.
It is about moving forward, with the right support
beside you.

And what comes next… is yours to define.

Be Part of — 40 Years Strong

For 40 years, our community has shown what connection, creativity, and shared experience can build. This April, Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month ( ) honors four decades of progress while looking ahead to what comes next.

Throughout the month, we’re inviting you to celebrate lived experience, creativity, and community connection. Whether you’re sharing your story, participating in weekly challenges, wearing orange, or taking action locally, your voice matters.

💙Start Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month by participating in the Mixed Media Art Challenge. Use art, photography, writing, or any creative medium to express your experience and perspective. Every submission adds depth to our shared story.

Did you know…

More than 5.6 million Americans are living with limb loss or limb difference.
Nearly 185,000 amputations happen each year.
And many individuals still face barriers when it comes to accessing prosthetic care.

At Syracuse Prosthetic & Orthotic Center, these numbers are more than statistics. They represent real people, real stories, and a community we are proud to support every single day.

That is why we are sharing more this April for Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month. It is about increasing understanding, advocating for access, and making sure no one feels alone on their journey.

Because awareness leads to action. And action changes lives. 🧡
