Working in this new way is challenging and very rewarding. I have tailored my schedule to offer 4 slots per work day, Mon, Wed, Fri, 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm. This gives me time to adequately sanitize and air out the room for the next client, change clothes, mask and take care of myself to be ready for the next client.

We're also cleaning the bathroom after each client to be sure the next user has a sanitized experience and can feel confident that everything they need to touch is clean for them. I never thought cleaning bathrooms would be part of my job description as a massage therapist/business owner, especially not several times a day, but here we are, the world with Covid-19 is a very new and different place.

As you deal with the stress of finding your way in this new landscape, consider massage as a choice to help your body reset and find its way to healthier.

As NY starts to reopen, I am working to create a plan for a healthy re-start as soon as it is legal to do so. I know my clients are eager, as am I to get back. It is unclear whether we will be able to reopen in phase 2 or if there will be a longer wait, and whether small-volume practices will have a different time-line than large-volume high traffic spas. It is an honor and privilege to be able to work with so many deserving people in my practice. I am grateful for the service the Veterans I treat provided and their sacrifices, all so varied, and still willingly made.

The local VA refers out to many healthcare services such as massage and acupuncture rather than keeping people on staff, allowing more veterans to receive care at a lower cost, it is a program that serves the community by providing care for the veterans while also giving work at fair value to local practitioners. So many winners! 🇺🇲️

I LOVE getting back to the office after CE and having clients benefit from my new understanding. James Waslaski, thank you for your ongoing updates and new learning that help those of us who study with you keep getting better and better. The bodies of evidence supporting your approach keep multiplying, one client at a time, one seminar at a time. Thanks as well to all those from whom you keep learning. I know it's a long list, I hope to study directly with many of them ... if only there were infinite time and money to support my fascination with this work!
