“Massage therapists don’t get sick”…
At least that’s what I tell myself right before I inevitably catch a cold and spend 24 hours acting like I’m on my Victorian deathbed. 😌💀
(It’s okay. I’ve accepted who I am.)
This season is no joke, though, and I want all of us to stay as healthy and steady as possible—me included!
Here are 3 simple things you can do to help keep the sniffles away:
✨ 1. Hydrate like it’s your part-time job.
Warm tea, water, electrolytes—your immune system works better when everything is flowing.
✨ 2. Wash your hands longer than you think you need to.
20 seconds. Hum a song. Pretend you’re in a dramatic music video. Whatever helps.
✨ 3. Prioritize rest before your body forces you to.
Good sleep, slow mornings when you can, and a moment to breathe deeply each day.
Stay well, take care of yourselves, and if I disappear for a day it’s probably just me being a little dramatic under a weighted blanket. 💛🌿

I use to be meaner, okay? 😅

A lot of muscle pain is just your emotions cosplaying as knots.
I’m trained to fix the knot part. The emotion part? Absolutely not—please don’t get me sued.
You handle the healing, I’ll handle the squeezing. # quietrivermassage

We’ve all had this conversation before I think. 🤔 😂

“Why do my muscles hurt like this?”
It’s such a complex question.
Have you been drinking water? Have you stretched?
How are you—physically, emotionally, psychologically, spiritually?
Did it start with a hurtful word from years ago, still echoing in your body?
Or maybe from doing the same motion day after day until your muscles simply said, enough.
Did you lose someone you were really close to?
Our bodies hold so much more than tension—they hold stories, memories, emotions.
Sometimes the question isn’t why do I hurt?
But rather… what is my body trying to tell me?
As you move through these layers of pain, I’ll be right there with you—doing my darn-dist to help you find some understanding… even if the answers aren’t always clear. 💛

A few weeks ago I prayed, “Lord, please let me be fully booked.”
Well… He said BET. 😅
Now I have a waitlist and a massage table that’s seen more drama than a telenovela.
But real talk—being fully booked doesn’t mean I can turn into a sleep-deprived pretzel.
If I don’t take care of me, I’m going to melt faster than a candle in a hot yoga class. 🫠
✅ So yes, I’m still stretching.
✅ I’m still eating real meals (most days lol).
✅ And I’m still protecting my peace like it’s the last cookie in the house.
Because self care isn’t selfish—it’s how I keep showing up for YOU at 100%.
Overflowing with gratitude for every single client who trusts me with their body, their pain, and their healing journey.
Being this busy is a blessing—and I don’t take it lightly. 🤎

Come on in, I got sparkly lights and soothing music.

I hesitate to use the word hate because it’s such a strong one — but I have lost count of how many times someone has come in to see me in a lot of pain that started with CrossFit.
I’ve only been to one, maybe two CrossFit sessions myself, and I completely understand the appeal — the energy, the challenge, the sense of accomplishment when you push your body to its limits. I love that part. But what often seems to be missing is proper stretching, warming up, and listening to what the body is trying to say.
Pushing yourself can be empowering — but pain shouldn’t be a badge of honor. The body deserves preparation, care, and recovery. When those things are skipped, it’s not strength we’re building… it’s tension, imbalance, and sometimes long-term injury.
Take the time to warm up, stretch, and give your body space to revive, not just survive. 💆‍♀️💪
