Born on October 29, 1961 in Syracuse, NY and raised in Camillus, Tim lived his entire life in Syracuse. He graduated from West Genesee High School in 1979, where he excelled in art and theater. As a young man, he operated the Peculiar Friends t-shirt shop inside the Dream Days comic store on Montgomery St. in downtown Syracuse. Tim created many original designs and was a talented pen and ink artist. The shop specialized in an eclectic mix of shirt designs that spanned from gothic horror to films, music and fantasy art. Tim also spent several years as a cook, and worked at fine dining establishments including Café Margaux, Dominic’s Restaurant and the Dinosaur Barbecue. He spent more than 25 years working at St. Joseph’s Hospital garage at the security office, while also dealing in collectable comics, books, toys, and original art.
Most of all, Tim loved his family, especially his daughters, who traveled to concerts and other events with him whenever they could. Tim was passionate about music, comics and movies. He loved attending concerts and comic conventions, and met many renowned musicians, artists, authors, and literary figures over the years, and knew many of the leading comic dealers on the East coast. Tim was also an amateur movie historian, with a vast knowledge of silent films and a large collection of movies. His friendships and acquaintances, many of which were based on their mutual love of comics, art and film, were innumerable.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that in recognition of Tim’s great love of animals, donations should be sent on his behalf to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
