🌿 Quote Reflection Tuesday

The transition into a new year isn’t about perfection — it’s an invitation to begin again with softness and hope.

You can start over gently, one breath at a time. 🌱

💚 Mind Care Monday

Resolutions often come from pressure.
Intentions come from alignment.

Pressure says, “You need to change.”
Intention says, “You deserve to grow.”

Real change happens when your actions align with your values, not your self-criticism. 🌱

Try this:
Instead of resolutions, set one word for the year that feels gentle and grounding — like “steadiness” or “trust.”

🌿 Quote Reflection Tuesday

Joy doesn’t always mean happiness — sometimes it’s quiet contentment or a single peaceful breath.

Notice one joyful spark today, however small. 🎶

💚 Mind Care Monday

If rest feels uncomfortable, it’s not laziness — it’s conditioning.

Many of us learned early on that safety came from doing rather than being. Staying busy, productive, or hyper-aware may have once helped us cope.

Over time, the nervous system adapts to this pattern. So when we finally slow down, the body can misinterpret calm as danger, even when nothing is wrong.

✨ This is a nervous system response, not a personal failure.

Healing doesn’t mean forcing yourself to relax.
It means gently teaching your body that rest is safe again.

🤍 Try this today:
When you notice guilt or discomfort while resting:
• Pause and name it (“This is my nervous system reacting”)
• Take a few slow, steady breaths
• Allow the feeling instead of fighting it

Each time you do this, you’re sending your body new messages of safety.

🌿 Rest is a skill and skills can be relearned.

✨ Grief During the Holiday Season — You Are Not Alone ✨

The holiday season can be incredibly meaningful… and incredibly hard. For many people, this time of year brings memories of those we miss; especially when this is the first holiday season without them. Grief doesn’t follow a schedule, and it can show up in unexpected ways: through memories, traditions, quiet moments, or reminders of loved ones who are no longer physically present.

This year, I created a personal remembrance ornament to honor my grandfather, who I lost. Creating something tangible to remember him has offered me comfort, connection, and grounding and I wanted to share it in case it inspires you. A heartfelt thank you to my aunt for the thoughtful idea and for providing the supplies to make it possible.

💛 If you’re navigating grief right now, here are a few tools that may help:

🧠 Name the feeling. Acknowledging what you’re experiencing can reduce its intensity.

🤍 Create a ritual of remembrance. This could be an ornament, candle, journal entry, or any meaningful act that honors your loved one.

📅 Give yourself permission to experience joy and sorrow — both can coexist.

🤝 Seek connection. Reach out to someone you trust or a mental health professional for support.

🧘‍♀️ Grounding practices; slow breathing, noticing your surroundings, or gentle movement can help regulate overwhelming emotions.

🌿 I also want to share this meaningful poem that many have found comforting during the Christmas season of grief:

👉 see it in the comments

If this season feels heavy, please know you’re not alone. Grief is not something to “fix”; it’s something to be supported through. Be gentle with yourself.

With care,

Ashlee

🌿 Therapist Thoughts Thursday

This time of year often comes with quiet pressure — to make everything look perfect, to feel grateful all the time, to hold it all together.

But perfection leaves no room for peace.

It’s okay if things are messy, if moments feel complicated, or if joy comes and goes.

The holidays don’t need your perfection — they just need your presence. 🤍

Show up as you are. That’s always enough.

Authenticity takes courage especially when vulnerability feels risky.
