Gone, Never Forgotten, Always In Our Hearts This Holiday Season

🌲 Parade of Trees 🌲 - The Holidays can be an especially difficult time for families and loved ones who have lost someone to su***de. As we gather together with family and friends, it’s important to remember those we’ve lost and offer support to those who may be struggling with grief during this time.

💜 To honor and remember those we’ve lost, the Su***de Prevention Coalition of Oswego County is partnering with the Prevention Network of Central New York to sponsor a Su***de Remembrance Tree as part of this year’s ‘Parade of Trees’ at the Pratt House Museum in Fulton, December 1st to 12th.

💜 The tree will be decorated with ornaments featuring the names of loved ones who are no longer with us. To honor someone on the Remembrance Tree, scan the QR code or click on the link below to submit your loved one’s name. Each name will be included on an ornament to hang on the tree in their memory and given back to the person having submitted the name.

This Red Ribbon Week, Prevention Network proudly stands with communities across the nation to promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles and celebrate the power of prevention. ❤️✨

Since 1985, Red Ribbon Week has inspired millions to take a visible stand against substance misuse and to commit to making positive choices. Led by the National Family Partnership, this annual campaign reminds us all that prevention starts with awareness, education, and connection. 🌟

❤️ This week, our team wore red in the office to show our support for substance use prevention and to stand united with those choosing a brighter, healthier future.

🙏 Thank you to everyone who followed along on our Instagram and joined us in spreading the message of hope and prevention, which is:
1️⃣ Raising awareness about the dangers of substance misuse
2️⃣ Supporting healthy choices among youth and families
3️⃣ Promoting prevention, education, and community connection

Together, we’re creating a safer, stronger, and drug-free community, one choice, one conversation, and one ribbon at a time.

At Prevention Network, we believe that healing begins with understanding. 💜

Recognizing substance use disorder (SUD) as a treatable mental health diagnosis, as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5 TR), helps us replace stigma with support, compassion, and hope. 🌟

Often, substance misuse and mental health challenges go hand-in-hand. Many individuals experience both, and by addressing them together, we can foster true recovery and lasting wellness. 💭🕊️

💬 When we understand the connection between mental health and substance use, we can build pathways to healing, offering empathy, resources, and community instead of judgment.
Together, we’re creating a culture that values care over criticism and connection over isolation. 🌿

At Prevention Network We:
1️⃣ Recognizing substance use disorder as a treatable mental health diagnosis
2️⃣ Supporting integrated care for mental health and recovery
3️⃣ Reducing stigma through education, empathy, and community support

Together, we’re building a community rooted in understanding, compassion, and recovery!!

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a biannual event led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that provides a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications. 💊

This nationwide initiative helps prevent prescription drug misuse, addiction, and accidental poisoning, while also protecting our environment from unsafe disposal practices like flushing or throwing medications in the trash. 🌍♻️

Held twice a year, in April and October, Take Back Day brings together communities across the country with collection sites at police stations, pharmacies, and community centers. It’s a simple yet powerful way to make a difference in keeping our communities safe and healthy. 💚

✨ Together, we can prevent misuse and promote safe medication disposal. ✨
