Happy World Pediatric Surgery Day! Meet Dr. Wallenstein and one of her patients.

Pediatric surgeons provide specialized care for infants, children and adolescents, treating a wide range of conditions with approaches tailored to their unique physical and emotional needs.

This day is an opportunity to acknowledge the work and collaboration across nursing, providers, and support staff that makes it possible.

Thank you to our Pediatric Surgery team and all who support this care for helping kids heal and get back to being kids 💙

It’s National Window Safety Week 🪟

Windows bring in fresh air and light—but they can also pose serious risks, especially for young children. Here are a few simple tips to help keep your home safe:

• Keep furniture away from windows to prevent climbing
• Always supervise children around open windows
• Install window guards or stops to prevent falls
• Open windows from the top whenever possible
• Make sure screens are secure—but remember, they are not designed to prevent falls
• Teach children that windows are not for playing

A few small precautions can make a big difference. Let’s work together to keep our kids safe at home

With the stretch of ❄️extreme cold 🥶in Upstate NY, no better time to conduct a hands-on simulation focused on recognizing and treating hypothermia in pediatric trauma patients. This scenario also gave us the opportunity to sharpen our CPR skills in a realistic, high-impact learning environment. A big thank you to the pediatric resuscitation manager,Jenn Murphy, who supported our team in honing in on CPR skills.
⭐️⭐️Another successful mock drill from our simulation team,EM residents and staff! ⭐️⭐️ Thank you to all who participated!
