We’re grateful for the leadership and advocacy of the Nebraska Hospital Association during important policy discussions that directly impact Nebraskans.

Our Chief Marketing & Development Officer, Deborah Doke, had meaningful face-to-face conversations with staff from Nebraska’s federal delegation, sharing how Syracuse Area Health is advancing rural healthcare.

“Our people make all the difference,” she shared. “We’ve integrated telemedicine into our trauma bay and emergency department, giving our teams immediate access to more than 40 specialties. This investment is improving outcomes for the rural communities we serve. Now our local volunteer rescue squad is fundraising to continue this technology in their ambulance after grant funding was cut. Regarding rural health transformation, we need continued support from CMS and DHHS to sustain solutions like this across rural Nebraska.”

We’re proud to represent both our community and critical access hospitals in these important conversations.

This week, we’re recognizing our Patient Family Advisory Committee (PFAC) for the important role they play at Syracuse Area Health.

Established in October 2021, our PFAC is made up of 7 community volunteers who help represent the voices of patients and families in order to improve the care we provide. Led by Emily Iske and Sandi Rippe, the committee meets every other month.

Thank you, PFAC members, for your service and commitment to better care for our community.

🚨We’ve been notified that some patients received letters from UnitedHealthcare stating a Syracuse Area Health Primary Care Provider (P*P) is no longer in-network with their plan.

We want to reassure you: all Syracuse Area Health providers remain in-network with UHC. Our team has confirmed this directly with UnitedHealthcare, and this appears to be an internal error on their part.

If you received one of these letters, please contact your insurance provider or our Billing Office, and we’re happy to help verify your coverage.📲402-269-2011

Behind every call, every mile, and every moment of urgency, there’s a volunteer EMT answering without hesitation.

From our perspective as a critical access hospital, volunteer EMTs are more than first responders—they are an essential part of how care reaches our rural communities. They are often the first to arrive, the first to assess, and the first to provide comfort in someone’s most vulnerable moments.

What connects us isn’t just the work—it’s a shared commitment to the people and communities we serve. Showing up when it matters most, caring for neighbors, and doing what needs to be done.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, sacrifice, and heart our volunteer EMTs bring every day. Their impact reaches far beyond the call.

Thank you for all that you do.

Right now, Syracuse is at a turning point. Our emergency services have served this community for decades, but the reality is, the current space is no longer meeting today’s needs.

Limited space, extremely outdated facilities, and these challenges impact how quickly and effectively responders can do their jobs.

This project is about fixing that.

It’s about creating a space that allows our firefighters and rescue personnel to respond faster, work safer, and serve our community the way it deserves, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A portion of the funding may come from sales tax, but a critical piece depends on fundraising, community support, and people who are willing to step up.

Because this isn’t just a building. It’s the future of emergency care in Syracuse. And when an emergency happens, that future matters.

If you believe in strong, local response, now is the time to be part of it. Scan the QR code or visit
