Davis County Round-Up Club offers a variety of activities for Horse Lovers of all ages! whether you have a horse or not this club is full of activities and opportunity's to grow in your love for horses! Clinic activities include:
Learning about horse History and Anatomy
Learning how to Groom a
nd Saddle your horse
Lessons on Riding (yes you actually get to ride )
Horse Behavior and Feeding
And SO Much more!!! Discounts for those with disabilities. Playdays will consist of five events. They are a chance to come and get your horse ready for bigger competitions and stay practiced as well as get yourself ready. Beginners and experienced riders are welcome to come see what they can do. Barrel racing – Turn your horse around 3 barrels in a specific pattern. Fastest time wins. Straight barrels – 3 barrels will be set up in a straight line. Weave through the barrels and back. Pole bending – 6 poles will be set up in a straight line. Run past the poles, weave through them both directions, and run back past the poles. Jumping – 4 jumps will be used. Height varies with ages and experience levels. Most jumps will be short enough to walk/trot over. Go over 2, around a barrel, and over 2 more. Extra event – 1 extra event will be done at each playday. Will be kept secret until the day of the playday. Will not be the same every time nor be too difficult. Playdays are open to riders of all ages as follows:
Lead line is for 9 and under (Those unable to control their horse yet) - Parent, friend, or volunteer will lead the child through a smaller version of the patterns. Disabilities – For those with disabilities. Can be led or ride by selves on a smaller version of the pattern. ENTRY IS FREE FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES!
9 and under - For kids able to control their horse.
10-13 – For kids/teens ages 10 to 13
14-17 – For teens ages 14 to 17
18 and over – For adults
Exhibitions are $2 each for those who want timed practice runs. They will start 1 hour before each playday as well as immediately after.
