Oaklynn was born at 24.5 weeks weighing 1.5 pounds. She had fought a long battle against prematurity and spent 4 1/2 months in the NICU. Oakylnn's mom shared: "I don’t know how I could ever repay our NICU family for all that they have done for my family to keep my babygirl here with me to this day. The NICU team and the RMH family rock and I just want to say thank you for all you did and continue to do for these other NICU families in these tough times." Today we celebrate Valentines day & another pair of …

Richard and Kathy Steinnman: Associate Medical Director & Dir. of Education and Professional Practice:
This couples shares a rich and wonderful history at Crouse. Kathy’s grandmother had a heart attack and Rich was assigned as Nana’s intern. After Nana was discharged, Rich asked Kathy for a date…the rest is history… They will be married 40 years in April . "We share the wonderful history of Crouse. The lucrative and the lean, the joys and heartbreaks, the changes in technology and evidence-based practice, and the excitement of what is yet to come. Dinner conversations are never boring. "

Sejla and James Milazzo, RN & Patient Transport:
James and Sejla we're lucky enough to meet their other half while working here at Crouse in 2016! They are soon to be newlyweds in 2026 . "Our favorite part about working together is being able to have our lunch dates during the day". Sejla's personal favorite is that no matter what kind of day it may be - Jim is always there to bring a smile to her face.

We just love our (and our )🥰...

Julia and Andrey Moyko, RN on RCC & ER Physician:
First and foremost, congratulations to this couple on the birth of their baby boy at Crouse this past Wednesday 🍼! The Moykos met 10 years ago after being introduced by a mutual friend. Their favorite thing about working together is meeting up for lunch dates when they're working similar shifts. Crouse holds a special place in their hearts for many reasons, but most importantly for the birth of all three of their children.

Brett and Sarah Smith, ICU RN & ER RN:
This Crouse couple met in nursing school and just welcomed their first baby in December 2025 (which happens to be their favorite Crouse memory). Congratulations from the Crouse family. 💙 Their favorite thing about working together has been being able to strengthen the relationship between the ER and ICU.

Congratulations to our most recent DAISY Award recipient, Katie Campbell, RN Neonatal ICU. Katie was nominated by a very grateful NICU mom. The nomination reads:

"My son was unexpectedly sent to the NICU when he was born. As you can imagine, this was beyond a stressful time for our family.

His nurse Katie went above and beyond for him, and for all of us throughout his stay. I felt how much she cared about my son and getting him back to us happy and healthy. She was attentive to all of his needs, going out of her way to make sure he was not alone when we could not be with him. She also helped me with breastfeeding tips to make sure he got the amount of milk he needed to go towards his goal of going home.

Overall, I just cannot thank her enough for her dedication as a nurse, and compassion as a person. My son was in such capable hands and got to return to us after just 2 days, meeting all the goals he needed, and much of that is thanks to Katie. Our family valued our time getting to know Katie and deeply appreciate everything she did for my son."

Say hi to another set of ! 💙

Trish and Paul Sorbello, ICU RN and Monitor Tech:
They met here at Crouse! Paul's mother was a NICU Nurse Manager and Paul was hired as a monitor tech. The best perk of working together is parking together in the H lot. Fun fact: Paul proposed to Trish in the PCU conference room while sharing McDonald fries. 💍🍟

Allyson and Kennedy Bure:
They met online when Ally worked in the OR as a traveler and Kennedy was a charge nurse on 5s. Their favorite thing about being a Crouse couple? "We each get to see our favorite person every time we work together". The best part of their story was the birth of their son at Crouse! 🥰

Liz and Gabe P***n, Ultrasound Inserter RN and Surgical Float Pool RN:
The P***ns also met online while working hard in both their careers. After completing the PCON evening and weekend program, they were married in 2020 and Liz joined Gabe at Crouse Hospital in 2021. Their favorite thing about working together? Being fortunate enough to see a friendly face during especially trying times, including working on the COVID unit together.
