🏔The offseason isn’t a break… it’s your upgrade window.

Races might be months away, but this is when strong, resilient runners are actually built. When you’re not juggling peak mileage or chasing PRs, your body finally has the bandwidth to level up your base strength, clean up imbalances, and bolster the tissues that usually get overloaded once training ramps.

Think of it as putting money in the bank 💰so future-you can cash out on race day.

I am excited to announce that I am holding a new round of my mobility workshop! This will focus on the science & benefits of a recovery/mobility routine and features the use of foam rollers, mobility balls, and bodyweight movements.

⚡️Celebrating 3 years of serving runners greater Tacoma!

January 2022 was when I officially opened my doors to seeing patients with Tribu PT. Originally starting as a mobile side hustle, then transitioning to full time and operating out of gym spaces, here we are!

⚡️Walk with intention!

One of the most common questions I get, especially this time of year in the PNW, is “what’s the best warm up before a run?”

And while there’s no go-to SUPER ULTIMATE BEST DYNAMIC RUNNING WARM UP EVARRR since every body is different, brisk walking is a secretly valuable tool that everyone can utilize pre-run.

From physical prep to mental prep, it’s just a damn good way to transition from waking up, decompressing from work, breaking from family/caregiving duties, or any other task you’re disengaging from for the day.

💥Take 5-10 mins and walk like you’ve got somewhere to be! Then, if you have a few dynamic warm up moves you like to do, transition into those or just switch into your run.

🧠 Also, walking can remove a mental barrier to getting in a run. If you’re feeling unmotivated, starting with a walk can help. Some days, you’ll transition into a run, some days you might just stick with a walk, or you might turn around and go home - either way, you got out and did the dang thing to keep the habit alive.

Alex teaches an amazing class series called Women on Weights which seeks to help those new to (or intimidated by) strength training feel confident in the gym or working out at home.

⚡️A lot of times, when we hear the words Physical Therapy, our mind naturally goes to the physical aspects: regaining strength, flexibility, power, etc! The reality is that the rehab process is so much more than that and folks deserve to be supported as a whole being. Part of my job is to identify:

1. What does my patient need?
2. Can I provide that or is it out of my scope?
3. If out of my scope, who are other trusted providers in the area that would be able to support my patient in the way(s) they need?

Grateful for my patients who trust me with their care. And grateful to my colleagues in all aspects of physical & sports medicine, mental health, nutrition, and beyond for their collaboration in keeping our community supported. ❤️
