On World S*xual Health Day, we had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Carol Remz—an 80-year-old grandmother, breast cancer survivor, and passionate advocate for senior s*xuality—to Franke Tobey Jones Senior University.

Dr. Remz shared wisdom from her new book Best S*x Ever After Menopause, breaking down outdated myths about s*x and aging and reminding us all that pleasure, intimacy, and confidence don’t come with an expiration date.

Her engaging talk and lively Q&A inspired laughter, thoughtful conversation, and lots of head-nodding as she covered:
• The role of the brain in s*xuality and communication
• Remedies for intimacy, from natural to pharmaceutical
• Real-life stories of resilience and rediscovery
• The many ways intimacy supports overall health and well-being

The change of seasons is beautiful—but it can also be hard.
For some of our Pt. Defiance ~ Ruston Senior Center neighbors, cooler weather means facing the cold without enough warm clothing.

This fall, we have a simple but powerful way to help. For the Senior Center Clothing Bank, we’re gathering jackets, coats, sweaters, shirts, and scarves so every senior can head into winter with comfort.

Your small act of kindness—a gently used coat, a cozy sweater, a warm scarf—can be the reason someone feels cared for when the temperatures drop.

Collection bins are in the Bistro, Care Center and Garden Apts. lobbies, as well as the Philanthropy Office. We’ll be accepting donations all through September and October.

Together, we can wrap our community in warmth, dignity and love this winter.
