Trouvés House at St. Ann’s is seeking to hire experienced Residential Counselors to work at our beautiful Trouvés St. Ann’s campus in Tacoma, WA.
Full time Positions include:
Sun-Thur 2pm to 10:30pm
Tues-Sat 2pm to 10:30pm
Sun-Thur 10:00pm to 6:30am
Tues-Sat 10:00pm to 6:30am
Part time;
Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon: 2pm to 10:30pm and 10:00pm to 6:30am
OUR MISSION: Trouvés House at St. Ann’s mission is to serve children, youth and families in the greater Pacific Northwest who are experience challenges with family unification, behavioral health, trauma, and a lack of long-term family resources, offering a variety of services that include care for the body, mind, spirit and culture, in a safe and respectful manner.

WHAT DOES A RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR DO?:
Assists in the delivery of quality care to children, in a qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP). A Residential Counselor is direct care staff. The position provides assistance to the client, case manager, administration and clinical staff by performing routine tasks involving direct and indirect client care, treatment, activities, and transportation.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
§ Support clients in their daily activities
§ Document progress and incidents in the client record
§ Comply with infection control procedures
§ Support client rights
§ Provide a positive environment for clients as they work on goals
§ Follow written and verbal directions
§ Notify Case Manager and document observed changes in client’s condition and behavior
§ Assist client in tutoring to support learning and completion of school work
§ Assist client in participation in living skills and leisure activities
§ Trained in crisis de-escalation and trauma informed care
TYPICAL WORK:
§ Provide direct care to clients
§ Maintains cleanliness and safety in client areas
§ As needed, teach Independent Living Skills such as activities of daily living, cooking, budgeting, vocational skills, education, interpersonal skills
§ Lead leisure/recreation groups
§ Provide transportation to appointments, school and outings
§ Apply behavior management techniques as needed with youth
§ Observes, documents, and reports changes in client activity
§ Responds to internal and external emergencies and facility codes; initiates CPR
§ Assists families and visitors
§ Safeguarding patient confidentiality and privacy, and performs related duties as required
REQUIREMENT(S):
High School diploma or GED, must be at least 21 years of age or one year experience working directly with children. Have the skills and abilities to work successfully with special needs children, effective communication, and problem-solving skills. Two years’ social services education may be substituted for the required experience.
Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
