A new report from the Washington Center for Nursing shows that many qualified nursing program applicants may not have the opportunity to move forward without access to clinical training. In just one academic year, more than 3 million clinical hours were needed—and demand is growing.
The Clinical Placement Initiative brought together 280 stakeholders statewide to identify barriers and develop strategies and recommendations, including:
✔️ Expanding non-traditional and rural clinical sites
✔️ Strengthening and supporting preceptors
✔️ Streamlining onboarding and placement processes
If Washington is going to meet future health care needs, we must invest in the systems that train tomorrow’s nurses.
