Coordinated Care celebrated Day with 250 youth in Federal Way last week. We were honored to have Nicole Hockley, co-founder and CEO at Sandy Hook Promise, join us for a day dedicated to supporting youth mental health through social connection.

It was an amazing day! We saw student leaders stepping up and students engaged with the connection activities.

Thank you to Seattle Seahawks legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Walter Jones for sharing his personal experiences growing up and to the Illahee Middle School students for joining the activities and discussions on creating a welcoming school environment.

It’s —let’s celebrate the incredible impact and achievements of the Black Community in shaping our nation. Psychologist Dr. Mamie Phipps Clark, born in 1917, transformed the field of psychology by linking racial prejudice to developmental psychology proving that segregation harmed Black children's self-esteem. Her famous "Doll Tests" helped dismantle school segregation in Brown v. Board of Education. Her research highlighted the mental health impact of racism and showed how science could influence civil rights cases and improve outcomes.
