🏀✨ **DEL Health Players of the Game** ✨🏀

We have some special athletes to recognize from our recent home games!

🏀 2/10/2025 – Home vs. Chouteau

🔥 Lily Potts – Lily was absolutely hooked up and showed there is *no quit* in her game. We can't say that enough about her. She even stepped to the line and knocked down free throws with a black eye! That’s the true definition of GRIT. Her toughness, heart, and determination set the tone for everyone on the floor. We are so proud of the fight she brings every single game!

💯 Cody Botts - Cody officially joined the 1000 Point Club that night! What an incredible milestone! His level of play showed exactly what happens when you set a goal and put in the work to reach it. When you set a goal and work hard to get there, things get done and Cody proved that. We couldn’t be prouder of his dedication and leadership.

🏀 2/7/2025 – Home vs. Gore

🌟 Kenleigh Farmer – Kenleigh has been out with an injury and has recently returned to the court. We want to recognize her not only for her perseverance, but for being a leader and a true support system for this team. She understands that every role is important and embraces that fully. Kenleigh stays positive, communicates well, and perseveres through challenges. Her presence makes our team stronger!

⭐ Kaden Thompson - Kaden has heart and determination every time he steps on the court. We have watched him gain confidence and truly flourish this season. His growth and effort do not go unnoticed, and we are excited to see him continue to rise!

Congratulations to all of these outstanding athletes! 👏
DEL Health is proud to celebrate your grit, leadership, growth, and achievements! 💙🏀

🩺 Telehealth vs. In-Person Visits: What’s Best for You?

We want you to get the right care at the right time! Here’s a quick guide to help you decide when a telehealth visit is appropriate and when it’s best to come into the office.

💻 When Telehealth Is Appropriate

Telehealth works well for:

* Mild cold symptoms
* Congestion or runny nose
* Mild sore throat
* Mild cough
* Sinus pressure for only a few days
* Medication questions or follow-ups

Telehealth is a great option when symptoms are mild and testing is not needed.

🧪 When You Should Be Seen In Person

An in-office visit is recommended if:
* COVID or flu testing is indicated
* Symptoms have been present **5 days or less** with fever, body aches, cough, or significant congestion
* There has been known COVID or flu exposure
* High fever (especially >102°F)
* Shortness of breath or chest pain
* Wheezing
* Severe ear pain
* Facial swelling
* Severe sinus pain lasting >10 days
* Symptoms that initially improved and then suddenly worsened
* Concerns for dehydration
* You need a hands-on exam (lungs, ears, throat, etc.)

Due to the current increase in COVID and flu cases in our county, if your symptoms have been present for 5 days or less, we often recommend in-office evaluation for appropriate testing.

Telehealth is not appropriate when testing is indicated, as accurate diagnosis requires in-person evaluation.

Let’s Talk About Sinus Infections

Every year we see an increase in sinus complaints — and this is your friendly reminder:

👉 The majority of sinus infections are viral.
👉 Antibiotics do NOT treat viral infections.

Antibiotics are only helpful if we suspect a true bacterial sinus infection, which typically means:

* Symptoms lasting more than 10 days without improvement
* Severe symptoms with high fever and facial pain
* “Double worsening” (you were improving, then suddenly worse)

If symptoms have been present for 5 days or less, antibiotics are usually not indicated and testing for COVID and flu may be more appropriate.

💡 Why This Matters

Using antibiotics when they’re not needed:

* Doesn’t speed recovery
* Can cause side effects
* Contributes to antibiotic resistance

Our goal is safe, evidence-based care — not just quick prescriptions.

If you’re unsure which type of visit is best, give us a call — we’re happy to help guide you 🤍

Friendly Appointment Reminder 😊

To help us keep the clinic running smoothly and respect each patient’s dedicated time with their provider, we kindly ask that you arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow for a smooth check-in process.

Please note that appointments arriving more than 10 minutes late will need to be rescheduled to the next available opening and will be considered a no-show.

We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation—it helps us stay on time and provide the best care possible to everyone we serve.

Thank you so much 💛

Telehealth Services Update

At this time, our telehealth services are temporarily paused while we await a final decision from the federal government regarding the extension of telehealth coverage for primary care and urgent care services.

While this decision primarily affects Medicare and Medicaid plans, commercial insurance companies typically follow CMS guidelines, which may impact coverage across multiple plans.

We understand how important telehealth access is for many of our patients and are closely monitoring the situation. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in our care.

Our goal here at DEL Health, LLC is wellness and prevention — not bringing you back unnecessarily. We see plenty of sick patients every day! We truly want to help keep you healthy and out of our office as much as possible. Preventive care is how we do that. 💙 one of the ways we do that is annual wellness visits. The beginning of the year is the perfect time to get these knocked out.

What Does a Yearly Wellness Visit Actually Cover?

Your yearly wellness visit isn’t just a quick checkup, it’s your time to focus on prevention and staying healthy all year long!

Here’s what you can expect:

🩺 Review of your health history
We’ll talk about your medical history, family history, medications, allergies, and any concerns you’ve noticed.

📊 Vital signs & measurements
This usually includes blood pressure, weight, height, BMI, and sometimes other screenings depending on your age and risk factors.

🧪 Preventive screenings
We’ll discuss and order age-appropriate screenings such as cholesterol labs, diabetes screening, cancer screenings, and more based on national guidelines.

💉 Immunizations
We’ll make sure you’re up to date on recommended vaccines.

🧠 Mental health check-in
Your emotional well-being matters too. We may screen for depression, anxiety, or other concerns.

📋 Personalized prevention plan
You’ll leave with a plan tailored specifically to you including lifestyle recommendations, preventive care, and follow-ups if needed.

💲 What about cost?
Most insurance plans cover one preventive wellness visit per year at no cost to you meaning no copay.

However, if we address new or ongoing medical problems, adjust medications, or make changes to your plan of care during the visit, your insurance may apply a copay, coinsurance, or apply part of the visit toward your deductible. This is determined by your individual insurance plan.

If you ever have questions about coverage, our team is happy to help explain how visits are billed.
