đ˛đ Deepest Care for Our Tahoe/Sierra Family in This Heartbreaking Time
Tonight, my thoughts and heart are fully with everyone enduring the unimaginable aftermath of the Castle Peak avalanche:
⢠The first responders and SAR teams who braved ferocious blizzard conditions, extreme risks, and personal heartbreak (including losing a loved one among the victims) to reach survivors and recover those lostâyour bravery and sacrifice leave me in awe, and I know the emotional cost is immense.
⢠The survivors carrying shock, grief, and the weight of what happenedâmay you find moments of gentleness amid the storm inside and out.
⢠The families of the eight who didnât make it home (with one still missing and presumed gone)âyour pain is profound beyond words; you are wrapped in love from this community.
⢠The friends, colleagues, and loved ones of all involvedâholding your own sorrow while supporting others is its own quiet heroism.
Iâve seen how some online comments add extra hurt right nowâquestioning choices or hindsight judgments when grief is so fresh. Those words can feel like salt in an open wound, and itâs okay to step away, protect your peace, or feel protective of those suffering.
As your local neighbor in the Tahoe/Truckee area, a trauma therapist specializing in EMDR, and someone who knows how deeply this tragedy touches our mountain communityâIâm here. During this unimaginable time, Iâm happy to offer a no-charge chat (or more) to anyone affectedâwhether youâre directly connected, feeling vicarious trauma, overwhelmed by the news, or just need a safe space to breathe and be heard. No expectations, no stringsâjust compassionate listening when youâre ready. Virtual, confidential, and from the heart.
