Impact Academy is a non-profit, 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, incorporated in November 2009. We provide an environment that strengthens independence, encourages growth at all levels, and bridges the gap between educational and therapeutic services. We are heading into the weekend with so much excitement and a few pictures of our playground renovation!!

This part of our Academy renovation consisted of building a retaining wall, getting new playground equipment that is accessible for all of our students, and adding poured-in-place surfacing for a fun and safe experience!

We are thrilled with the progress our construction teams have been making and are eager to push this project over the finish line!

Looking for a fun sensory-friendly activity to do with your family tomorrow morning? Check out "Honk Jr." at Young Actors Theatre!

What makes it sensory friendly?
· The house lights will remain dimmed, rather than completely off
· Lighting and sound effects will be softened
· A quiet space will be available in the front offices for anyone needing a break
· A relaxed, supportive atmosphere will allow patrons to move in and out of the theater as needed.

We are so excited to be participating in the Celebration of the Hands again this year!

Our Academy classrooms used their creativity and made fun and colorful handprint artwork to be hung at the Florida State Capitol the week of February 22nd.

Today is National Puzzle Day and we want to celebrate by telling you why therapists love puzzles! Puzzles aren’t just fun—they’re powerful therapy tools! Read below to see why different types of therapists use puzzles when working at IMPACT.

Speech Therapy – Puzzles build language by encouraging kids to name, describe, ask for help, and take turns.

Occupational Therapy – Puzzles strengthens fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, focus, and problem-solving.

Physical Therapy – Puzzles motivate movement like reaching, balance, crossing midline, and body control.

ABA Therapy – Puzzle support following directions, turn-taking, problem-solving, attention, and positive reinforcement.

Kids think they’re playing—but they are really working on BIG therapy goals!

When choosing a tool to incorporate — First - check your capacity for the tool. If you don't have the capacity to follow through, choose another strategy that matches your capacity like redirecting, offering a break, or giving a calm prompt.
