A hospital transfer should not end your experience with your Midwife. It means every resource should be activated to support the best outcome, and the hospital is where we know higher levels of care are obtained.

I always offer to continue postpartum and newborn care even when a formal transfer takes place, or the occasional birth where the baby comes before I arrive.

Communication after birth is essential. Skipping postpartum care can place families at risk and disrupt the continuity you deserve.

I honor every mother’s foundation of support. I understand my position. I know that the mother’s mother, usually due to her own past experiences, will drown out every repeated utterance of guidance from me during our months our prenatal care.... and when your spiritual community claims they got you and your family, I believe and respect each realm fully.

I'm here to care for families who value partnership, HONESTY, safety, and respect. It's a difficult, yet simple task. When we stay connected, home birth remains safe and empowering.

Rooted in Community, Growing with Purpose🌱
Our support systems are greater than our adversities.

In 2011, I attended my very first Zeta Phi Beta Community Baby Shower with as a newly certified doula and founder of Oniwosan Doula Services, Inc. We showed up with a heart full of hope and hands ready to serve. Now years later, I return as Licensed Midwife of Fertile Ground Midwifery, still holding space for families, still answering the call.

Reconnecting with the Sisters in Sobriety, whom I used to hold space for in 2014 was a special surprise... And to know that the Rickards High Class of 2001 has 3 Melanated powerhouses striving to make a positive impact on our dismal maternal health outcomes...well... It really makes me proud to say I'm of the community I serve.

Life is a cycle...and through it, I’ve come to know and deeply appreciate the beauty of return, growth, and service.

With love and gratitude, I thank the women of the Chi Theta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for continuing this legacy of support. I look forward to celebrating and uplifting the next round of mamas, because we rise when we rise together.
