One example of IV therapy is High dose vitamin C (ascorbic acid). It is a nutrient that humans must get from food or dietary supplements-the body will not produce it naturally. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and by taking it in through an IV, rather than by mouth, you are able to take much higher doses which can cause the death of cancer cells. Also, a common problem for many patients is “leaky gut” which causes malabsorption of ingested nutrients. By taking the nutrients via IV more nutrients can be absorbed by the body.
