Dr. Del Carter and Dr. Kelly Delgado represented our program at the Florida Medical association Resident and Fellow Days at the Capitol. They met with Representative Tomkow from Polk County and multiple other legislative aides to discuss several of the healthcare-related bills this session. This is an annual event that allows residents and fellows to do a deep dive into the intricacies of the legislative process!

🏞️Perfect day off: Being outdoors with family or friends, eating good food, and having fun or sometimes just relaxing at home with my husband 😅

🎥 Hobbies: Running, hiking, and watching a good classic movie

🧠 Most surprising thing about intern year: The amount of things you could learn in short period of time.

📯Fun Fact: I played the French horn in middle and high school and a bonus I’ve only dated one person my whole life… and married him 💍

❤️💛Why FSU at TMH: I liked that there were fellow Caribbean people in the program and the exposure to complex medicine

🌳 Favorite thing about Tallahassee: The trails and parks

🎥🍿 perfect day off: Watching movies (favorite is the Dark Knight)

⚽️ Hobbies: Watching and playing football (soccer for us Americans), track and field

✏️ Most surprising thing about intern year: How much teaching you receive from the faculty. I had heard about it but it has been more than I expected and it’s great

A bittersweet moment as we celebrate Dr. Dave Robinson’s last medicine shift. He joined the residency in 2011 and has since served as the main adult medicine attending for the last 14 years. He played an instrumental role in teaching our residents about adult inpatient medicine. We’ll miss you and hope you enjoy retirement!

❤️💛Why FSU at TMH: I liked the combination of large community based hospital that had the benefits of an academic program and that we were unopposed to obstetrics and pediatrics.

🏖️ Favorite thing about Tallahassee: Proximity to the beach, good food scene, the parks

⛳️Perfect post call day: Quick nap, go to a park with my wife, play some disc golf.

🎾Hobbies: Pickleball, disc golf, video games

🧠 Advice to a fourth year: Enjoy the process of interviewing and this time in your life, it’s all about to change.
