FALA Welcomes New CEO Alberta Granger!🎉

The FALA Board of Directors proudly announced the appointment of Alberta Granger as its CEO, effective January 15, 2026. Alberta succeeds Bijou Ikli who served as CEO since June 2023. The Board extends its sincere appreciation to Bijou for her dedication, leadership, and contributions during her tenure.

FALA’s Legislative Committee is dedicated to advocating for the Assisted Living industry!

The legislative landscape is moving fast, and FALA is actively engaged. Today, FALA’s Legislative Committee met to track key bills impacting Assisted Living Facilities and Adult Family Care Homes—especially SB 1404 (Memory Care). With more than 1,700 bills filed for the 2026 Legislative Session and a March 13, 2026 deadline approaching, critical decisions around staffing requirements, oversight, and operations are happening now.

⚠️ Action Needed: SB 1404 requires member input. Your voice matters—please take a moment to complete the SB 1404 survey so we can accurately represent how this bill will impact providers across Florida.

We're Hiring - Registered Nurse (RN)! 💉🏥

We’re looking for a Registered Nurse with knowledge of medication practices in an Assisted Living Facility to join our team! This role requires willingness to travel and offers the opportunity to support facilities through training and compliance-focused services.

Responsibilities include (not limited to):
Conducting 6-Hour and 2-Hour Medication Trainings
Performing Medication Cart Audits
Assisting with Mock Surveys for Specialty Licensed Facilities

The Education Committee will review proposals in March to select speakers for the 2026 Conference & Tradeshow. This year there will be a separate form for breakout session speakers versus keynote speakers to avoid confusion. We invite each of you to submit your topic for consideration.
