This morning, FHA President and CEO Mary Mayhew spoke with the hosts of Wake Up America on NEWSMAX about the importance of the expiring enhanced premium tax credits.
"Long before the Affordable Care Act, the health insurance market wasn't working. Individuals could not afford individual coverage...Small businesses were long ago priced out of the health insurance market. So, we can wish it to be different. But the reality is, we all know what it means to have a health insurance card in our wallet. The peace of mind to get access to a family physician, and not the revolving door of the emergency department," said Mayhew.

People who can't afford healthcare premiums will turn to emergency rooms for care, and that's the "most expensive point of entry" to the system, Mary Mayhew, president and CEO of the Florida Hospital Association, told Newsmax on Friday.
