It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Big Bend Hospice opened the Margaret Z. Dozier House. 💚

Built to offer a peaceful, compassionate environment for patients and families, the Dozier House has fulfilled that mission many times over. Not everyone is able to spend their final days at home, and the Dozier House was created for exactly that reason. It gives families the support, care, and comfort they need when it matters most.

Many of us have personal connections to the families who come through its doors, and it is a true honor to be entrusted with their care. Our staff and volunteers bring expertise and compassion to every interaction, helping families understand and find peace through the dying process.

As we celebrate this 25th anniversary, we extend heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team at the Margaret Z. Dozier House. Your dedication and compassion continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of so many.

💚 Today is National Stress Awareness Day. It is a reminder to caregivers that caring for others begins with caring for yourself.

For caregivers, stress can build quietly over time. Taking a few moments each day to pause, breathe, and recharge can make a huge difference.

Here are a few simple ways to relieve stress and restore balance:
• Take short breaks throughout the day
• Spend time outdoors or go for a walk

• Practice deep breathing or mindfulness

BIG NEWS!

For the first time ever, Big Bend Hospice proudly participated in the 2025 Florida State University Homecoming Parade!

Our team showed up in true spirit, representing compassion, care, and community every step of the way. And making it even more special, our Mobile Unit made its parade debut!

It was an incredible moment to share our mission with the community in such a fun and festive way, showing that hospice is about living, loving, and celebrating life.

🎃 Happy Halloween from Big Bend Hospice! 👻

Our team celebrated in true spooky style with festive costumes, a chili cook-off that brought the heat, and some seriously creative table decorations! From creepy to cute (and everything in between), our staff showed off their Halloween spirit and had a frightfully good time together.

🎃 Spooktacular fun with Big Bend Hospice Music Therapy

Our Big Bend Hospice Music Therapy team had a wonderful time at the Cascades Park Spooktacular last Saturday! Our table was filled with candy, instruments, and plenty of music. Children and parents had a blast learning to tap, shake, and play along while our team filled the park with joyful tunes. 🎶
