Meet Our Providers:
Dr. Hong Gao began her practice in gastroenterology after completing her Gastroenterology Fellowship at Yale University. In addition to general gastrointestinal diseases, her particular areas of interest include acute and chronic liver diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, Celiac disease, management of women’s gastroenterological issues and colon cancer screening.

Dr. Gao had many years of experience in academic medicine, including teaching and medical research. Her special research interest was in liver disease. She has been published in numerous medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. Her research has been presented in national and international meetings. Dr. Gao is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.

Meet Our Providers:

Angela Smith, ARNP-C, joined the staff at Digestive Disease Clinic in August 2016. Born in Winter Park, Florida, Mrs. Smith grew up in Jupiter, Florida. In 2004, she moved to Tallahassee, Florida to pursue her studies in nursing. In 2006, she received her LPN from Lively Technical College, in 2008 she received her ADN from Chipola College, in 2011 she received her BSN from Chipola College and in 2016 she received her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Florida A & M University. From 2008 to 2016, she worked as a Registered Nurse on various medical surgical units at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Smith is certified as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP-C) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Digestive Disease Clinic and Tallahassee Endoscopy Center will be closed Thursday 9/26/2024 and Friday 9/27/2024 due to the impending storm. We plan to reopen Monday 9/30/2024, but we will update our patients if this changes.

Ron Lindquist PA-C
I was born and raised in Thomasville, GA. I currently reside in Boston, GA with my wife Nicki. I graduated from Medical college of GA in 2002 with honors. I spent the first 12 years of my career in family practice. I have been practicing GI medicine for the last 11 years. I enjoy all outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, gardening and more importantly, spending time with my wife.

Meet our providers:
Dr. Mota graduated from The Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC. She did her residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA and Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship training at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. Her areas of interest include: women’s issues in GI, functional GI disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, esophageal pathology such as Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), liver disease and obesity, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).
Dr. Mota is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. She is a native of Brazil who has been in the United States for the past 20 years and has found the perfect balance of nature, weather, diversity and community values in Florida which she is proud to call home. She enjoys travelling abroad and locally. On the weekends she you will likely find her in one of the Orlando Theme Parks or at one of the stunning Forgotten Coast beaches.
Her hobbies include baking, reading, and exercising. She lives in Tallahassee with her children.

Dr. Dr. Prashanth Vennalaganti, MD is a skilled gastroenterologist, who has received medical education from YerevanState Medical University, Armenia, accomplished residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitalsand Clinics, and completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Kansas School ofMedicine. He has made significant contributions to his field with various publications in esteemed journals likeGastrointestinal Endoscopy, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Journal of Gastroenterologyand Hepatology, and Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology. These works have been extensively referenced by hispeers. His interest includes diseases of the esophagus including motility disorders and Barrett’s esophagus,inflammatory bowel disease, disorders of the liver and colon cancer screening.

Meghan Cunningham’s, APRN

Meghan Cunningham APRN-C joined the staff of Digestive Disease in April 2024. She was born and raised in Tallahassee and is committed to serving the community through nursing. In 2019 she graduated from Tallahassee Community College with her ADN, in 2020 she graduated with her BSN from the University of West Florida, and in 2023 she received her Master's of Science Degree from Valdosta State University. From 2019-2021 she worked as a bedside cardiology nurse at TMH while navigating through the global pandemic. In 2021 she began working as an endoscopy nurse at Tallahassee Endoscopy Center which began her transition into gastroenterology. Mrs. Cunningham is certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN-C) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
She is married to her high school sweetheart. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, baking, and tending to her home and garden.
