We’re expanding!!! Can’t wait for this to fully kick off! 🎉

We're opening a new community center right here in Seminole Heights!

The Guinn Center is now accepting inquiries for the following:

💠 Venue Hire | host an event, hold a meeting, or bring your next project to life.
💠 Volunteers | help us with the build out, community initiatives, or STEM tutoring.
💠 Ideas | tell us what you'd love to see offered at the Guinn Center, or if there's something you'd like to offer the community.

Please email Inquiry@GuinnCenter.com to set up a showing or discuss opportunities.

We'd love to talk with artists, crafters, musicians, teachers, scientists, engineers, fitness trainers, event planners, non-profits, community groups, food trucks, and party vendors.

Our goal is to create a multi-use, family friendly environment where you can celebrate your life events, execute your ideas, connect with your community, and explore STEM+ with MRG Labs.

MRG Labs will be the leading educational partner of the Guinn Center. Their expansion stems from the success of their dedicated involvement to help the front lines of the pandemic. A team of incredible volunteers led by Michael R Guinn 3D printed over 100K face shields and donated them to hospitals across the state. Through this new partnership, both MRG Labs and the Guinn Center are slated to improve access to STEM education and foster rapid community innovation.

What can I say, my week in FL was incredible! From seeing old friends to making new ones, lots of fun things … including a friends’ housewarming/gender reveal, great food, stimulating conversations, plenty quality time, relaxing yoga, pool parties with floats, couple bizarre experiences, car shows, and some fun time to cruise around with the top down! Ps. My tag finally arrived - MRG Labs (like my nonprofit’s page please)! 🎉🥰☀️🌴🌊🏐🍣🇺🇸🏎💨

Off to DC/Baltimore/Annapolis for the week, then Longboat Key for the weekend, and will be in Chicago next week! Hit me up, if you’ll be around or want to chat! 💼💻☣️💀🛥

Sooooo… I didn’t tell many people at all, but a few months ago, I got COVID-19 really bad. It was an absolutely terrifying experience gasping for air, but thankfully I had my family to help me get through it. I didn’t consider myself high risk, but apparently I am, and it is still crazy to me how much the symptom variance is from person to person - I literally couldn’t make extremely basic decisions for myself. Very thankful for my family and my life! 😷🦠🫁🧠🤦🏻‍♂️

One positive side of having COVID though, is it definitely reinforced that I need to focus on my priorities!!! With that in mind I’ve been trying to make meaningful memories while spending more time with my family and friends, having more of a work/life balance, getting healthier, focusing on those that focus on you, trying to set myself up for my future personal life success, pursue learning always and finish my PhD, cleaning up my house/projects, helping others as much as I can through MRG Labs or personally, going on more adventures, saving when I can so I can spend when I want, and lastly, but importantly, just enjoying life to its fullest! It’s all a gift we shouldn’t take for granted! Sadly it shouldn’t take me gasping for my next breath to realize this to this extent, but lesson learned and I’m thankful it did! If there is something I can do to try to help you focus on your priorities, please let me know… and if I haven’t seen you, I want to! 💙🙋🏻‍♂️🥰🙏

This week, I had the privilege to speak at a Military Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) conference as a subject matter expert in Advanced Manufacturing and Federal Agile Acquisitions… Very thankful for my experiences, education, and look forward to my life to come! 📚🔬💰🖨🤓🇺🇸

Lastly, I did a thing and added several hundred horses to my stable, so that’s been fun too! ☀️ 🏎💨 🏁 🏆 🇬🇧

Had a very fun week in Orlando, and was honored to speak at Additive Manufacturing User Group (AMUG) 2021! Met some great people and got to hang out with some of my close friends in the community! Didn’t hurt having a private event at Universal Studios, a lazy river bourbon trail, incredible dinners, and a casino night - all, plus really neat technology! 🖨 🦁 🎰 🥩 🍷 🥃 🌊 🏝 🎤 @ Orlando, Florida

MRG Labs: STEM Education - FDM 3D Printer Education!
2021 is starting out to be a wonderful year for MRG Labs! We are in our new lab located at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and continuing to help local medical professionals. We just finished up a 3D Print job for a local hospital for their 3M 6000 series respirators. The last count on donated halo face shields was over 65,000! ️
Our lab is focused on STEM Education, Community Innovation, and Workforce Development. Along those lines, we also want to educate those outside of the lab as well. This is the first in our series of educational videos we will do from time to time.
This video is focused on Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D Printers that utilize thermoplastic materials to heat up and extrude in a controlled fashion. The two printers from our lab that we chose to demonstrate today is the Syndaver Axi and the Lulzbot Workhorse (links to each below). Both are exceptional printers that serve our lab very well... they are both phenomenal and are used in similar but slightly different fashions for us.

The trick to NYC traffic isn’t so much the forward and backward motions, as much as it is your side to side game. Gotta be able to duck and weave people, along with proper horn usage. I think that’s becoming a lost art here in most of the US... it’s a language all of its own!
