Your hormones are more than chemical messengers - they’re also powerful influencers of your heart. 💓

Balanced hormones = steady rhythm, healthy contraction, optimal blood flow
Imbalanced hormones = faster heart rate, stiffened vessels, structural changes in the heart

This is why some people experience high blood pressure, arrhythmias, or other heart issues even when traditional risk factors aren’t present.

Swipe through to see all the ways hormones impact your heart, and check out our blog for a deep dive on keeping your rhythm healthy. Read it here: https://www.flheartbeat.com/the-beat-goes-on-hormones-and-your-heart/

“Coffee causes heart problems!”
☕ Not exactly… but a “safe” amount isn’t the same for everyone.

Moderate caffeine use is generally well-tolerated, even for some people with heart conditions. Sure, your heart rate might jump a little, and your blood pressure might spike temporarily, but in healthy individuals, it rarely causes dangerous arrhythmias. In fact, some studies suggest regular coffee may even lower the risk of certain heart issues.

Here’s the kicker: your heart is unique. If caffeine makes your heart flutter, skip, or pound unusually, take it seriously. Your rhythm powers your life, so pay attention and skip the cup of joe (or energy drinks) if it becomes bothersome..

We unpack it all in our recent blog. Read it here:

PVCs, Premature Ventricular Contractions, are a little beat that comes out of nowhere. They’re common, usually harmless, and many people don’t even notice them.

But sometimes PVCs aren’t so innocent. Frequent PVCs can impact heart function or signal underlying issues, depending on your overall health and symptoms.

The key? Pay attention, get checked, and know your heart. Our recent blog covers all you need to know. Check it out here: https://www.flheartbeat.com/premature-ventricular-contractions-or-pvc-what-are-they-and-what-to-do/

💀🎃 Frights, chills, and thrills…your heart feels them all! That rush you get from a haunted house or horror movie? That’s your heart racing from adrenaline. And a healthy heart can handle the thrill.

However, those who suffer from heart conditions should be cautious about engaging in high-adrenaline-pumping situations. Those warning signs before you enter a haunted house aren’t part of the show.

PFA is the new kid on the block in heart rhythm treatment, and it’s absolutely revolutionary!
Instead of heat or cold, it delivers microsecond bursts of energy that safely target problem cells while sparing surrounding tissue. Irreversible electroporation does its magic, helping restore heart rhythm with minimal risk.

Think of an ICD as a supercharged pacemaker. ⚡
A small incision is made near the collarbone, leads are guided into the heart, and a pulse generator is placed under the skin, all done under local anesthesia with sedation.

It monitors your heart and can deliver a life-saving shock if needed.

Ever wonder what happens right before your heart skips a beat? A loop recorder can catch it! 🫀 The loop recorder is a continuous recording that gives us data immediately prior to the arrhythmia to be recorded.

Why Would You Need a Loop Recorder?
🫀To find the cause of fast heartbeats that only occur occasionally
🫀To find the cause of a slow heartbeat or bradycardia
🫀To find the cause of unexplained fainting
🫀To verify the presence and type of heart palpitations

Continuous monitoring gives your medical team the context they need to protect your heart!

🙅‍♀️No burning. No freezing. Just targeted energy.

Pulsed field ablation is changing the game for AFib treatment. It uses controlled electric pulses (aka electroporation) to zap the problem areas with way less damage to surrounding tissue.
Faster recovery. Fewer complications. We are loving the direction of this technology.

Can heart palpitations be normal? 💓🤷‍♀️
Sometimes yes… sometimes no.

If you feel your heart skip a beat after too much caffeine or stress, that might be normal.
But if it keeps happening, or comes with dizziness, chest pain, or shortness of breath, that’s when it’s time to call your doctor.

You don’t need to panic, but you do need to pay attention. Be sure to check in with a specialist if you are concerned about your heart’s rhythm.
