What is the skin barrier?

Your skin is made up of different layers.
The top layer is called the skin barrier or stratum corneum, and it’s what keeps you alive! It’s made up of tough skin cells called corneocytes which form a “brick wall” 🧱🧱🧱 to protect your body from bacteria, toxins and viruses.

The skin barrier also keeps water 💧💧 in your body, so you stay hydrated. Kind of important, isn’t it?
