Anxiety can be tough for kids—but occupational therapy offers real help.

By improving sensory modulation, kids learn to manage overwhelming feelings and stay calm.

This means better stability at home and school, smoother routines, and more confidence in daily life.

Every small step in therapy adds up.

Wondering what happens in occupational therapy? 🤔

It's not just "play" — it's purposeful connection.

In our sessions, your child learns through:
• Sensory activities that help them stay calm
• Building routines they can use at home
• Developing skills for dressing and eating
• Social interactions that build confidence

Every activity is designed to help your child feel capable and confident in their daily life.

Got questions about DIR/Floortime? We've got answers. 💬

❓ What exactly is DIR/Floortime?
It's a relationship-based approach where we follow your child's lead through play to build communication skills naturally.

❓ How does it help with speech?
By creating meaningful interactions that encourage language development in a comfortable, engaging way.

❓ Can it help non-verbal children?
Absolutely! It focuses on all forms of communication - gestures, sounds, and eventually words.

❓ What makes it different from other therapies?
It's child-led, play-based, and builds on your child's unique interests and strengths.

Every child communicates in their own way. Our job is to meet them where they are and help them grow from there.

Ready to learn more about how DIR/Floortime could support your child? We're here to help.

Turn tough appointments into calm moments with play!

Try "doctor" or "haircut" games at home. These mini role-plays help kids feel safe, tackle fears, and get comfortable with new routines.

Plus, using simple occupational therapy tips during play can ease sensory sensitivities and boost confidence.

"Will they walk, talk, and learn like before?"

We hear that question in our first conversations after a pediatric stroke. And the honest answer is: recovery is possible, but it looks different for each child. That is why we build therapy around three lanes that work together.

Mobility training for daily function
Movement practice is targeted to help your child reach, stand, move, and participate in real routines.

Speech therapy for communication
We focus on speech, language, and swallowing supports so your child can better express needs and connect with others.

Cognitive and behavioral support
The International Pediatric Stroke Study has shown that cognitive and behavioral outcomes vary, which is why early screening and rehab support matter.

If you want a plan mapped to your child's goals, we are here.

That "intensive" schedule can feel like your child is being managed, not met.

We respect ABA-its evidence base is huge (50+ years of peer-reviewed research). But when our main goal is emotional development, social-emotional connection, and learning through a safe relationship, DIR/Floortime often fits more naturally.

DIRFloortime (Greenspan-style) is relationship-based and child-led. Current RCT evidence is increasingly focused on social-emotional outcomes, not just compliance. For families who want skills to grow from attachment and play, not pressure, we recommend considering DIR alongside (or in place of) ABA intensives.

Wait... does a milestone delay mean something more?

We hear this worry from parents a lot: your baby is sweet, but their early movement looks different. Maybe muscle tone feels off (too stiff or too floppy). Maybe hands don't open the way you expect. Maybe they avoid weight-bearing, rolling, or reaching.

When you see those patterns, baby physical therapy can be more than"extra practice." For conditions like cerebral palsy, PT focuses on improving muscle tone, strength, and coordination so kids can build independence over time.

Here is what you can expect from us:
- Sensory-integration-based exercises tailored to your child
- Fine-motor and early movement practice (including pre-handwriting skills)
- Parent involvement, so you understand what to look for and how to support at home

If you want to ask, "Is this something we should evaluate now?", contact us. Let's work together.

"We tried OT first... now speech. What's next, PT?"

We see this confusion a lot: your child is working hard, but the plan feels like three separate tracks. Meanwhile, handwriting, attention, movement, and communication are all happening in the same real-world moments.

Here is what a coordinated, whole-child plan looks like:
PT builds strength for functional movement.
OT adds sensory-regulation breaks so handwriting and attention do not fall apart.
Speech targets communication in the everyday moments that matter.

When families pick a connected team instead of one discipline at a time, it is easier to understand and act on the plan. And yes, about 28% of the public still confuses OT vs PT - integrated care helps it click.
