Look at these kiddos working SO hard during their joint intensive. We are so proud of all of them! With the joint intensive, we want to give older kiddos access to DMI who would benefit from two sets of skilled hands to boost their gross motor skills.

Parents, thank you for sharing your children with us. We loved watching them grow and shine!

This joint intensive continues to be dedicated to Paloma, our very first kiddo to participate in our joint intensive. We honored her by wearing a shirt from the Paloma Lucia Foundation . We thought about her often this week and one sweet moment was captured at the end of the reel. Paloma, we are thankful to call you our forever friend. 🕊️

During Naomi’s intensive, we focused on pushing through her feet with upright posture with the use of lots of dynamic exercises. This led to many firsts:

⭐️ standing for the first time with only AFOs
⭐️ taking steps in her walker with only AFOs
⭐️ pushing through her right foot to pull up on the sofa
⭐️ transitions from wheelchair to and from walker

And the best part, we didn’t practice steps until the 4th day of the intensive and we didn’t practice activities like pulling up on the sofa or transitions from wheelchair to walker until the 5th day. Which means that the dynamic exercises helped improved her ability to stay upright against gravity during functional activities.

At the end of Jude’s first intensive, he sat for up to 4 seconds with close guarding. Before his second intensive, he could sit for up to 10 seconds. By the end of his second intensive, he sat for 60 seconds with better control and alignment!

His amazing smile says it all ❤️

I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to participate in DMI Intermediate Level B.

Thank you, Jake and Jo-Anne, for helping me grow as a clinician as well as further enhancing my clinical reasoning. You are both great role models to strive to push each child to their highest potential.

And, thank you to all of the other practitioners for making this such a great learning experience!

I am beyond excited to use my new knowledge to help my kiddos reach their goals! 🌟
