Tip: If you’re experiencing symptoms of gout, don’t wait for pain to strike! 🦶💥 Take proactive steps to manage your condition by making dietary changes and consulting with your healthcare provider about medication options. Remember, early intervention can help reduce the severity of attacks and improve your quality of life. Your joints will thank you!

Gout is a type of arthritis caused by a buildup of uric acid crystals in the joints. Gout attacks can come on suddenly and are painful causing swelling and redness in the joints. Gout primarily targets your feet and hands (most commonly the big toe), but can also affect other joints and tendons and even your kidneys.

❄️ Winter & Asthma — What You Need to Know

Cold weather can make asthma harder to manage. For many people, winter brings more flare-ups due to chilly, dry air, seasonal illnesses, and indoor allergens. But with the right plan, symptoms can stay under control all season long.

🌬️ Common Winter Asthma Triggers:
• Cold, dry outdoor air
• Indoor allergens like dust mites & pet dander
• Respiratory viruses (colds, flu, RSV)
• Indoor smoke or strong fragrances
• Sudden temperature changes

✅ Winter Asthma Tips:
• Bundle Up: Cover your mouth and nose with a scarf in cold air.
• Reduce Indoor Triggers: Use air purifiers, replace filters, and keep dust under control.
• Stay Consistent: Take medications exactly as prescribed—don’t skip injection days.
• Ask About Infusions: Sage Infusion administers treatments like Fasenra®, Nucala®, Tezspire®, or Xolair® may help manage moderate to severe asthma. Talk with your doctor to see what’s right for you.

: Understanding & Managing Neuropathic Pain

Neuropathic pain can range from mild to severe — lasting just minutes or persisting for much longer. Conditions like diabetes, shingles, or central nervous system disorders can all play a role.

Managing Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN)
✅ Medications: Antivirals (if prescribed early for shingles), pain relievers, or certain antidepressants and anticonvulsants can help.
✅ Topical Treatments: Capsaicin cream, lidocaine patches, or Qutenza patches (available at your nearest Sage Infusion clinic).
✅ Comfort Measures: Use cold compresses and protect skin from irritants like tight clothing or hot water.
✅ Alternative Therapies: Acupuncture and gentle massage may bring relief.
✅ Prevention: Talk to your doctor about the shingles vaccine to reduce your risk of PHN.

🔍 Common signs of neuropathic pain:
• Burning, sharp, or stabbing pain
• Numbness, tingling, or pins and needles
• Pain from a light touch
• Balance issues or muscle weakness
• Pain during normal activities
• Autonomic changes like dizziness when standing

💡 Tip: Understanding your type of neuropathy can help you manage symptoms more effectively.

🌟 Tip Thursday! 🌟

Living with Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis means navigating challenges most people never see.
It’s researching symptoms at midnight, pushing through discomfort, and also honoring the days when rest is the priority.

Infusion therapy can help ease inflammation, reduce flares, and support long-term management. At Sage Infusion, our team is here to make treatment as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

It’s essential to consult your healthcare provider to discuss treatment options that may include Entyvio, Omvoh, Remicade, Selarsdi, Skyrizi, Stelara, or Tremfya infusions.

💡To enhance your management of these conditions, we invite you to explore practical tips available at https://sageinfusion.com/CrohnsColitisTips
