We’re happy to share this review from Carmen about Florida Rehabilitation Hospital at Tampa:
“I am a 79-year-old female who broke my femur as a result of a slip and fall. After emergency surgery at a trauma center, I was transported to Florida Rehabilitation at Tampa for intensive rehab. The hospital was not only a beautiful, clean facility, but the staff were terrific. I received 1 ½ hours of Occupational Therapy and 1 ½ hours of Physical Therapy daily, including weekends, for two full weeks. The therapists were excellent, very encouraging and knowledgeable, and within 5–6 days of my arrival, they had me bathing and walking independently (with a walker).
The gym was not only clean but beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a lake and excellent equipment, including both electronic and conventional options, as well as a “fake” car to teach patients how to safely get in and out with a broken leg. The staff included two physicians who visited every patient daily, responded to individual needs, and held weekly multidisciplinary meetings with each patient and their families.
The food was outstanding for a hospital; I was served delicious, moist salmon at least three times a week. The dietitian also visited patients to gather feedback and assist with nutrition.
It is now seven weeks since my injury and, with continued PT, I am able to walk carefully without a walker or cane. I attribute my remarkable recovery in large part to Florida Rehabilitation at Tampa and their amazing staff, care, and encouragement. I would strongly recommend this facility to anyone wishing to jump-start their recovery from a serious injury!”
We’re honored to provide rehabilitation care that motivates, encourages, and improves independence.
