We're excited to announce the Top 30 finalists in the 2025 Thermo Fisher Scientific Challenge, the nation’s STEM competition for middle school students. The finalists — selected by a nationwide panel of scientists, engineers and educators from the Top 300 Junior Innovators announced earlier this month — will participate in Thermo Fisher JIC Finals Week in Washington, D.C. in October. During Finals Week, an esteemed panel of judges will evaluate the finalists’ scientific research along with their communication, creativity and collaboration skills during team challenges.

Parents can indeed be proud of the opportunity for their children to work with Prof. Rajagopal Appavu, an accomplished alumnus of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. Prof. Appavu further honed his expertise at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. His distinguished background is reminiscent of visionaries like Vikram Sarabhai, who also began their journeys at IISc and went on to make significant contributions to India's scientific and technological progress. Collaborating with a mentor of Prof. Appavu's caliber, who carries forward the legacy of pioneers like Sarabhai, is a tremendous opportunity for any aspiring student.
