We are proud to announce that Excelis Medical Associates (EMA) has donated $1 million to benefit the construction of the hospital’s new, freestanding pediatric facility, which will be named Pagidipati Children's Hospital at St. Joseph's.

Last week, our team attended the Annika Golf Tournament for a truly unforgettable experience. Thanks to our friends at Gainbridge, five incredible patients from St. Joseph's Children's Hospital turned their creativity into one-of-a-kind golf shoe designs proudly worn by athletes, as well as Annika Sörenstam and her family during The ANNIKA Pro-Am.

Annika Sörenstam's custom pair of shoes, designed by 5-year-old Hazel – one of the talented young artists receiving care at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital – was inspired by the doctors and nurses treating her, featuring "happy hearts" drawn in their honor.⛳️

We're so grateful to all those who helped make this collaboration possible, shining a light on the inspiring journeys of our young patients.

Some names carry stories of love, faith, and gratitude. For Monica and Ryan Angel, naming their baby boy Joseph was a tribute to the care, compassion, and hope their family found at St. Joseph’s Hospitals.

After being told they couldn’t have biological children, the Angels’ journey took an unexpected turn when Monica became pregnant at 40. Their faith led them back to St. Joseph's, where their family had always found comfort and care. It was the same hospital that cared for their beloved daughter, Emmi Grace, during her courageous battle with brain cancer.

In gratitude for the extraordinary care they received, the Angels have continued to give back through the Foundation’s charitable events and initiatives. When their son was born healthy and strong, they knew naming him Joseph was a fitting way to honor the place that means so much to their family and community.

The BayCare Cancer Institute has reached a groundbreaking moment with the arrival of its proton therapy accelerator, the key technology that will power one of the most advanced cancer treatment centers in West Central Florida.

St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Foundation board members and supporters joined BayCare leaders today to celebrate this milestone, marking an exciting step forward in bringing cutting-edge cancer care to our community. Guests also had the unique opportunity to tour the proton therapy accelerator, offering a unique glimpse into the science and innovation driving the future of cancer treatment.

Located next to the Fred J. Woods Radiation Therapy Center at St. Joseph's Hospital, the new proton therapy center will provide a more precise form of radiation that targets tumors while protecting healthy tissue. This is especially critical for pediatric patients, as proton therapy helps avoid exposing vital organs, like the heart, lungs, brain, and reproductive system, to unnecessary radiation, reducing the risk of developmental delays, heart disease, infertility, and other long-term effects. Construction is progressing rapidly, with patient treatments expected to begin by mid-2026.

Today marks a special day on the green at The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican Tournament! ⛳️✨

Kicks for a Cause will amplify the stories of our young patients by showcasing their creativity in bringing awareness to BayCare Kids. Five of our incredible pediatric patients at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital turned their creativity into one-of-a-kind golf shoe designs worn by the Gainbridge Sport team during the Pro-Am Tournament.

🎨 Hazel filled her shoes with happy hearts to honor her doctors, nurses, and the care she received.
🎨 Adelaide and her twin sister Genevieve, both NICU graduates, drew inspiration from their earliest days at St. Joseph's Women’s Hospital.
🎨 Emmanuel shared this powerful message through his design: “Life is like a game. we always try to beat what’s in our path.”

Each design tells a story of courage, hope, and creativity, walking side by side with the golfers today.

We are grateful to our community partner, Child's Play, for their incredible support of our Gaming Technology Specialist at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Alex.

Through an equipment grant provided by Child’s Play this year, we were able to provide new equipment, such as the Ray Neo 3s AR glasses that enables Alex to ease our patient’s anxiety during stressful times.

“Gaming therapy is a way to bring a part of home to the hospital. The goal is ultimately to connect with our patients using technology to lessen the impact of their treatments,” said Alex.

Support from Child’s Play also allows children to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and can provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience.

Last week, the halls of St. Joseph's Children's Hospital were filled with costumes, candy, and smiles as our young patients enjoyed a special trick-or-treat parade right here in the hospital! This beloved annual tradition brings the magic of Halloween to our patients, allowing them to celebrate safely while receiving care. 🎃🧡

A heartfelt thank you to Spirit Halloween and Spirit of Children for providing costumes and supporting the Child Life department throughout the season. Your generosity helps make the Halloween experience joyful for our patients and their families.

Happy work anniversary to Sarah Jenkinson! 🎉

Originally from Northern Virginia, Sarah moved to Tampa Bay in August 2021 and found her home at St. Joseph’s Hospitals Foundation just a few months later. Inspired by her mom’s wonderful experience with BayCare, Sarah discovered her dream role here!

One of Sarah’s most memorable moments has been during our Holiday Shop, a heartfelt event where parents can find gifts for their children without worrying about finances. Watching the community come together to support families in need has moved Sarah to tears, reminding her why this work matters so deeply.

Next on her bucket list? A food tour across Japan, after already checking off two dream destinations, Australia and South Africa!

Sarah, thank you for your compassion, dedication, and the warmth you bring to the Foundation team every day.
