The wrong core engagement can quietly make prolapse worse even with “gentle” workouts.
After birth, your deep core and pelvic floor need to relearn how to work together. That’s not something most online programs teach.
If you’re postpartum and unsure whether your current routine is helping or harming, reach out. This is exactly what pelvic floor therapy is designed to support.

🧩 Integrative Pelvic Care🧩
At Pelvic Soul, we understand that you are more than just a set of muscles, fascia, bones in the pelvic area.
🧘🏽♀️We truly believe that how your body shows up physically, energetically, emotionally affects your health in the pelvis.
💀We know that your TMJ is probably connected to your pelvic floor.
😛 We know that resting tongue posture and pelvic muscle coordination are interconnected.
🤝 We know if you have issues in one area, there is another part of the body that needs support.
Which is why our therapists, Sujata .content.heart , Dr , and train in related therapies, and not just pelvic muscle training.
🤕So, if you're stuck in cycles of pain and inflammation, come see us where we go beyond the pelvis - not just to the toes, hips, or knees - but way beyond.
🤲🏽 We look forward to taking care of you mind-body-soul.🤲🏽

Kegels can be confusing especially when no one teaches you how to actually do them correctly.
The most important part is to learn how to relax your pelvic floor before trying to contract it.
Your breath helps guide that. Inhale to relax and open. Exhale as you gently lift. Finding a cue that works for you (like “picking up a blueberry”) can make it easier to connect with the right muscles.
Working with a pelvic floor therapist can make this feel clearer and more effective and much less frustrating.

Change in care. Same heart. Same standard. 💛
As many of you know, Sujata’s passion has always extended beyond the treatment room—into teaching, mentorship, and shaping the next generation of integrative pelvic care providers.
As she focuses more deeply on her educational mission, Sujata will be reducing her clinical hours and will no longer be accepting new patients.
But the heart of Pelvic Soul remains strong and steady.
Every therapist in our practice has been personally trained by Sujata to uphold the same level of compassion, presence, and whole-person care you’ve come to trust.
✨ Meet the therapists continuing her legacy of care:
Dr. Anne Marie Hampe, DPT – somatic, restorative, deeply attuned pelvic work
Dr. Jacquenlyn Dunbar, DPT – comprehensive pelvic health support across every stage of life
Together, they continue to offer expert care in:
• Fertility support
• Pregnancy & postpartum
• Men’s pelvic health
• Gender-affirming care
• Oncology & chronic pain support

✨“Your body knows what your mind forgot.”✨
Have you ever felt like something deep inside you is stuck — even if you can’t quite explain why? Maybe it’s a tension that never goes away… or emotions that surface out of nowhere.
Dr. Anne Marie from Pelvic Soul shares something powerful in this video:
🌿 Trauma isn’t always about a “big” event. It’s about how your nervous system experienced it in that moment — even if it happened before you could speak or remember.
Through Somatic Experiencing, a body-based approach to healing, you can gently teach your system to process what it couldn’t before. This work isn’t about reliving pain — it’s about helping your body complete what it once couldn’t finish, so you can finally move forward with more ease, peace, and freedom.
💫 There’s no deadline for healing.
💫 There’s no timeline for when you “should” be over it.
💫 Healing is always possible — whether your trauma began at 4, 1, or even before birth.
When you begin to reconnect with your body, you come back into the flow of life — where joy, love, and choice feel accessible again.
👀 Watch now as Dr. Anne Marie explains how your fascia holds your story — and how your body can guide you toward healing. Remember, it's never ever too late to heal. ❤️

Why do some clients make huge DRA gains while others see none?
Because most treatment approaches skip the foundational work.
Sujata breaks down the 2 essential steps every pelvic health therapist should include when treating Diastasis Re**us Abdominis (DRA):
1️⃣ Identify whether it’s a fascial restriction, muscle weakness—or both.
2️⃣ Follow the line. Release contributing fascial restrictions first, then strengthen.
We’re opening a limited number of sessions with Dr. Anne Marie for Tuesday, October 14th — at a special rate!
Appointments must be scheduled by 5 PM today

The toughest cases of Diastasis are where the postpartum client has regained core muscle strength, but continues to have a gap in their abs. If you've had this problem, and wondered why - this video is for you.
Sujata shows you more about the missing piece to your Diastasis Assessment.
When measuring your patient or client's DRA, are you assessing the abdomen with and without muscle activation?
Assessing the linea alba with muscle contraction gives us info about the fascial wall - what is the fascia doing when the muscles are not active?
This Fascial treatment can be the key to DRA healing!

This client came to us with chronic neck and TMJ pain. Using her innovative manual therapy approach, the Martin Method of Myofascial Release (M3FR), Sujata identified that lasting relief required more than just treating the neck.
By addressing the front of the ribcage, upper back, and mid-back alongside the neck and jaw, she created space, improved mobility, and reduced pain at the source.

Hello World!
I'm Sujata Martin, MS OTR/L, a Pelvic Floor Occupational Therapist serving Buffalo and Western New York, USA.
I'm passionate about helping women be their best selves during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period! Through Mother Nurture WNY, I enable women to proactively give their core and pelvic floor the extra TLC it needs to minimize the risk of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction associated with pregnancy & postpartum. Being a past graduate-level research assistant, I can't help but pore over research studies and other scientific publications about pregnancy, the pelvic floor & birth, and sharing this information with the women I work with.
Besides preventative pelvic health services, I provide rehab for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, including both internal & external treatment techniques. The intimate nature of Pelvic Floor conditions are best addressed in the sanctuary of one's home, which is why I travel to your home for personalized one-on-one treatment sessions.
I'm also a lover of Chai, binge watching Netflix on the couch and spending time exploring Western NY with my family. I'd love to make the birthing year happier and more comfortable for you!
