We had an excellent gathering last night with the lymphedema community. It was so wonderful to talk to and collaborate with the lymphedema therapists in the Tampa Bay Community who are part of our care team for lymphedema and venous wound patients. I’m so appreciative to see so many passionate and compassionate therapists in all different settings in our area- from hospital outpatient clinics to mobile therapy settings and everything in between. Thanks to our (especially Bryan Groleau) and partners for helping to host an educational and fun night.

What an absolute honor it was to run this lymphedema workshop at Kaiser Permanente Anaheim! Such a fantastic turnout of very enthusiastic and engaged clinicians dedicated to treating wounds and lymphedema. Bravo to the Kaiser and Urgo teams, and especially Pamela Loera, BSN, RN, PHN, CWOCN at Kaiser for hosting a great event - it was a blast speaking to and spending the day with all of these wonderful providers.

Closing out another remarkable Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) and reflecting on all of the interesting things I still get to learn about wound care, all of the connections and reconnections made, and the chance to plan so many fascinating and interesting projects and research collaborations for the year. The emotional and soul baring keynote talk by Cameron “Cam” Ayala didn’t leave a single dry eye in the audience and reminded us of why we do what we do ( ). Just such a great conference and wonderful people to be surrounded by. I’m still trying to talk someone into branding this as the “Burning Man” of Wound Care 😉!

Dr. Rob Worthington-Kirsch and I are “kicking” off the month with the raising support and awareness for those suffering from peripheral arterial disease (PAD), critical limb ischemia, and unnecessary lower extremity amputations.
