As part of Obesity Care Week, OAC is hosting a Virtual Hill Day to amplify the voices of people impacted by obesity and push for meaningful policy change.

The bipartisan Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA) would ensure Medicare beneficiaries access to safe, effective, life-saving obesity treatments. Recent administrative steps help, but TROA is the key to lasting, comprehensive improvements in care. Urge your members of Congress to support TROA: obesitycareweek.org/action/

Did you know? Approximately 36% of Ohioans are dealing with obesity. Addressing this
challenge requires modern, science-based solutions.

GLP-1 medications are helping patients reduce weight, lower their risk of chronic
disease, and improve overall quality of life. Supporting Medicaid coverage for these
treatments would strengthen Ohio families, improve workforce productivity, and help
reduce preventable healthcare costs.

Governor DeWine has the opportunity to champion access to comprehensive obesity
care for Ohioans who need it most. Please join me in urging the governor to support
coverage for GLP-1 medications!

Stress eating happens because of predictable brain chemistry, not a lack of willpower. Ongoing stress raises cortisol, keeping the brain on high alert, while dopamine-boosting foods like sweets or salty snacks provide quick but temporary relief. Over time, the brain learns to crave these foods whene...

Obesity Care Week reminds us why compassionate, science-based care matters for everyone living with obesity. It is a time to reflect on our work, support one another and show that no one should face obesity alone. Hear from some of the OAC leaders why this week is meaningful and why they commit to care. Together we can raise awareness, challenge bias and make care better for all. obesitycareweek.org/
