November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month! Our Lung Program combines cutting-edge technology with expertise and compassionate care. From screening to treatment, we make sure that all our patients have the best possible outcomes. This year alone, we completed more than 135 robotic-assisted bronchoscopies so far. We also became the first hospital in Central Florida use a breakthrough lung technology that uses a pulsed electric field (PEF) system to deliver electrical energy to a targeted mass of cells, otherwise known as lesions, within the lungs. Happy Respiratory Care Week! We appreciate our fantastic team of respiratory therapists (RTs) and are proud of the care they provide.

They aim to improve lung health of our patients and help them with lung and breathing disorders. Collaborating with medical staff, they recommend treatments and therapies. They do analysis, tests and measurements of a person’s breathing to determine oxygen levels and other gases.

RTs also manage the intricate and complex apparatuses, ventilators and artificial airway devices for patients with breathing difficulties. They also educate patients and families about breathing and lungs so patients can maximize recovery.

How do you stay okay? 💚 Whether it’s journaling, exercising, cooking or connecting with a support group, our partners at Tampa Bay Thrives want to hear your story!

The “How I Stay Okay” contest has been extended through October 31 — share a short video showing how you care for your mental health for a chance to win a prize!

It takes time to learn how you stay okay! That's why we are extending the deadline for our How I Stay Okay video contest!

Submit a video sharing how you take care of your mental health by October 31st and be entered to win up to $250!

For some, taking care of your mental health means making a comfort meal at the end of the day to unwind, going for a long midday walk, or starting your day by journaling your goals and feelings! Whatever it is that helps you take care of your mental health, we want to hear about it!
