You that remains. Known and Unknown. We give thanks to our honorable and benevolent ancestors who watch over us. Thank you for your tenacity, your resourcefulness. Thank you for these beautiful and complex systems that heal us. Thank you for language. Thank you for existing, so that we may thrive. We give thanks to the many are hearing the call to return. Thank you for pouring into me, as I pour into others, as they pour back into me. Thank you for the open road so that we may see.

🌻 I attended a panel put on by recently and was moved to deepen my personal study in the work I have been doing. The above quote from comes from an article of the same name from their Substack DecolonialiTEA where they discuss that your spiritual identity and politic are not separate. They absolutely go hand in hand. It’s a really amazing article and I encourage everyone to check it out. I will share in my story ✨🥰

Another quote from Jaleesah’s piece that actually made me audibly sigh “Without rigorous study, our spiritual practices risk becoming commodified, co-opted, or depoliticized.” Which I agree with and see it happening often with Hoodoo.

I have a few books in my personal library that I’ve started reading AND rereading because there’s no better time than now to learn. 🌻✨
